Hello there, yankie and Farful!!

yankie, hope everything's going well for you! It has just now started to rain, too. I wonder if we'll get as much as we did on Sunday.

Farful, oh, gosh! I sure hope you get your phone and internet fixed tomorrow!

Time for me to sign out for the night.

Good night, everybuddy!

Had a good outing this morning, but it DID take a tad longer at the lab that I would have liked. Oh, well! Now I'm just waiting for Daughter to call, saying she's coming to get me and we'll go see the people she wanted to see.

Hello, grmoore, sandipaws, Lighting10K, attitash, kathybye, and dickc49!

grmoore, no rain here yesterday either, but it's said maybe tonight. Glad to hear the basketball teams got wins last night. :)

sandipaws, colder temps are coming back our way, too. :(

Lighting, hope you get all that work done.

attitash, hope you get all your errands done today. I am guessing you used the car and not the bike, though.

kathybye, so you only have to work one day this week. Nice. :) 77° for Thursday's temp/ That's awful warm! Here it might make it to 50°.

dick, I don't know about the Falcons getting their act back together over the next 5 games. They play Arizona, then Green Bay (there), Pittsburgh (here), New Orleans (there), and Carolina (here). Some tough games coming up. :) Hope you get your shopping done today. I have to go tomorrow morning, and I hope it won't be too bad.

Good morning Claudie,

I see the Falcons lucked out and the Saints lost last night. That leaves the Falcons holding down first again. Now if they can get their feathers in order over the next five games........

Looking at a storm coming in tomorrow morning but they still do not know if its all rain or changing to snow. It does look like the ski area will get all snow. Looking at going up late Thursday or on Friday. Will most likely do my shopping today so as to avoid the weather, and get something my wife wants me to get NOW.

Hope your trip went well with MOM and then you have a good time with the daughter.

Was up early today Claudie and took hubby to the airport.
It was 39 degrees when I returned home, and is currently 44 degrees at 8:05am.

I will go to work tomorrow with another chilly morn. But will have Turkey Day, and many other days off; Thanksgiving is predicted to be 77 degrees, so I will be ready. With days off, tomorrow will be a busy day at work.

Hope your errands go well today.

Good Morning Claudie {{{HUGS}}}

I think this will be the last year for the Falcons coach.
He has done a very good job this year. And they want a new stadium.

Working today when I get going here lots to do.

47° cloudy sky. Be in the 50's today.

Enjoy your Tuesday while having fun in Life................

Greetings Claudie/friends:

Happy Tuesday! 47 degrees this morning. 23 min walk complete. So much for the projected rain yesterday (not that I'm complaining, lol); I didn't see a drop at my place.

I'm into the office today and will telework tomorrow to forego the likely traffic snarls during the respective commutes incident to Thanksgiving holiday traffic.

Both the Panthers' basketball teams scored wins yesterday. For a change, the women (2-0) have a better record than the men (2-2).

Off to start the day.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, WKGaser, jqwright, JM, hmcsretired07, senile, org, TUrtLE, and scout!

jqwright, yeah, it's a pretty screwy year as far as the NFL team standings are concerned. Hoping the Falcons can win a few more games, at least.

JM, yeah, we might end up being the division leaders, but we won't go anywhere after that. :(

org, thanks for today's history info. :)

TUrtLE, more turkey funnies! :)

scout, have a great night with your dancing!

WKGaser, hmcsretired, and senile, thanks for stopping in!

Another busy morning for me. Taking Mom to WM a little earlier b/c on the way back to her place, we have to stop off at the doctor's office (across the street from her) and have blood drawn so her sodium can be checked. After that, I'll take her home. Then sometime before noon (or a little afterwards), I'll be going to with Daughter for a short visit with some people she knows. That should then be it for the day. :)

Good Morning Claudie,

More groaners/smiles.

Q: Why did they let the turkey join the band?
A: Because he had the drumsticks.

Q: Why did the police arrest the turkey?
A: They suspected it of fowl.

Q: Which side of the turkey has the most feathers?
A: The outside.

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

On this date, in 1841, the slaves who seized the Amistad in 1839 were freed by the Supreme Court. They had been defended by former president John Quincy Adams.

Claudie, the NFL standings are goofy. I see your Falcons are tied for first place with the Saints in their division, and they both have 4-7 records! Then there's the AFC North, where all four teams are at least 7-4. Go figure!

Good evening Claudie!

Too bad this warm weather is an one day event! I don't like what I heard about Wednesday. There is a chance here that it might not be just rain. Crazy the way the weather gets here during this time of year. One day it's 70 and then next it is snowing!

Work was a little busier as expected today. I'm curious about tomorrow since it is an "odd numbered" day which means a EBT/food stamp day. Also, since the weather mentioned the "s" word. The good news is I'm off Wed.-Fri. so, I don't have to deal with the last minute mess! (My store will be open until 4 on Thanksgiving Day.)

Went to see Mom. The usual visit. Nothing special today. They pass out her evening med. around 5:30 and one of them makes her sleepy. I decided to leave when I saw her nod off and on. Some days the meds. don't effect her too much, but she probably hasn't slept good, too.

Afternoon, Claudie:

Busy day. Running errands, mailing items (my sis's 50th B-day) gift, taking bedspread to the cleaners.

Taking hubby to airport early AM tomorrow; hair and nail appointment same day, which is unusual.

Hope you enjoyed your pedi!
I am having manicure tomorrow. It's so dry here, my nails really suffer.
I did get a manicure kit (Satin Hands) from a friend, so time to take it out and use is use now the heat will be on.

Good afternoon dickc49 and Scanman!

dick, glad to hear you're not feeling too sore today. That must be a huge relief to you. Hopefully your sister can get some info from your MRI and then find a local PT for you. I would imagine THAT would be a really big help! As for you upcoming weather, I wonder if it's what we had yesterday; don't know if you read back or not, but we had a tornado is our close vicinity late yesterday afternoon. Sure was scary.

Scanman, nope, didn't melt and didn't thin I would either. Was esp. glad I didn't get soaked!

Good afternoon Claudie,

Feeling OK this morning. Was wondering how I would feel after two days of skiing. Guess I did OK. Must be a combination of my sisters treatment, the cortisone, and me not over doing it. If it dries out enough here I will try a slow short walk a bit later. Still a bit showery right now from the disturbance that passed through last night. I can always wait for tomorrow if it does not clear. Looks like Wednesday afternoon might get "interesting" weather wise here.

Okee dokee!

Had a good morning out! Got the 2 other planned stops taken care of after the stop at the nail salon. I even had enough time left over to stop at an Office Depot to take a look at some tablets, which I am seriously thinking about buying. Just looking there, though, and now have an idea what I want. Now to check the prices at a coupla other places, which I plan to do online shortly.

Hello, sandipaws, grmoore, three30, attitash, Farful, and fliper!

sandipaws, same here with the temps; it was about 60° when I checked the thermometer about 7 AM, and has now gotten up past 70°. The best part is that it's sunshiny! Cooler temps on the way here also. :(

grmoore, it's supposed to rain today? I certainly hope not, esp. after yesterday's rain and the bad weather!

three30, I know that song by the Human Beinz!

attitash, yeah, tell me about next week's hard home game! Ugh! :(

Farful, I'm surprised that it's taking this long to fix your phone and internet. :( Will they be sending someone out to your house?

fliper, this Monday has already been a good day! :)

Bummers! Cannot send message until internet is available again. Internet service has been up and down this morning. Phone is still dead. Hope the technician is able to fix everything by tomorrow at 7:00pm like they promised. :-) Would be difficult for a business to operate with a defective internet service.

Happy Monday! 62 degrees this morning and wet. 90% chance of rain today.

Got in a 20+ minute walk this morning; it was actually pretty pleasant outside. I will work from home at least this morning due to a medical appointment.

re: Panthers on Saturday - Yeah a score would have been good. I couldn't watch the game as I was calling the final volleyball match.

Speaking of football - Interesting outcomes on several fronts yesterday!

Off to start the day.

Have a great day all!

mnjrfan, we've had warmer temps the past few days, too, but it's supposed to get colder again here, too. Hopefully not TOO col, though!

TUrtLE, yup, "and TUrtLE" again! LOL! I know what you mean about not taking the survey. Depending on my points when I go Wednesday, I might not take the survey either. It might not get me up to the next 100 anyway. We'll see.

Hi Again Claudie,
Oh boy, I'm "and TUrtLE" this morning. :-)

Previous advice I received from one of the clerks at Fred's must have been correct. Went to Fred's yesterday for 2 lbs of butter, only. Did not use my Rewards card and I got a survey. Friend bought me 2 lbs of butter, too. No Rewards card and a survey.
Not taking anymore this month, though, as I need almost 100 points to reach $.30 off a gal so why bother? I won't be spending $50 more, no where near it to go with another survey. I'll take it next Sunday, which will post it for Dec. Good start to the new month.

Heard reports yesterday of 50F in these parts. This morning it's 24F. Chilly weather moving in again. Prefer it stays cold this time. The back yard gets muddy when it's warm which in turn makes for muddy paws. Ugh!

Good morning, Robustus, WKGaser, Silverhand, HouHrl, Dino, yankie, JM, senile, hmcsretired07, org, keywest, scout, and TUrtLE!

Robustus, hmmmm, that's interesting about your dad's SS check. I wonder what's the reason for the payment changes. Ask him to show you the letter he got. Sooooo glad you got your mom out again! Hearing what the nurse told you about your mom's attitude (it makes her so very happy), I am not surprised. :)

Silverhand, thanks for the Sunday 'toons.

yankie, yeah, the rain moved out by about 9 last night, thank goodness. We ended up with a little over 2 inches of rain. Yup! Cold temps are supposed to return! :(

JM, I enjoyed the game yesterday and being around the people again (haven't seen them for almost 2 months). Just wish we'd had a win.

org, thanks for the Australian history tidbit.

scout, nice that you had a good trip to Williamsburg. Have never been there.

TUrtLE, hahahahahahahahaha! Thanks for the Thanksgiving funnies! :)

WKGaser, HouHrl, Dino, senile, hmcsretired, keywest, thanks for stopping in!

A busy morning for me, starting with an appointment at the nail salon for a pedicure. After that I have several places to stop before I head home. Thank goodness there's no more threat of rain or bad weather!

Good Morning Claudie,

It's not long now until Thanksgiving.

Q: Why was the Thanksgiving soup so expensive?
A: It had 24 carrots.

Q: What happened when the turkey got into a fight?
A: He got the stuffing knocked out of him!

Q: Who doesn't eat on Thanksgiving?
A: A turkey because it is always stuffed.

Q: Why do pilgrims pants keep falling down?
A: Because their belt buckles are on their hats!

Happy Monday!

Good evening Claudie!

Too bad about your Falcons today. (No offense) I am personally glad the Browns won. I always like to see an underdog team like them to do well. They have been having a pretty decent season so far. I guess the Panthers must be on a bye week. I hope they figure out things during this extra week off.

Anyway, Mom and I went out last night as I planned. First, we thought we wanted to go shopping. I headed into Greensboro and the traffic seemed too much for us. Also, worried that the stores would be packed with Thanksgiving shoppers. So, we just went over to Captain D's and ate dinner. Then, I drove back through Gibsonville (the town I live in) to see the Christmas lights. (The town just had their lighting Friday night.) Not much, but still something for a town that size. (Gibsonville has a population close to 6000 but it is close to the bigger towns of Burlington and Greensboro making it feel like a suburb with a small town feel.)

Today at church we had pastor appreciation. So, all four of our pastors we celebrated with our gratitude and blessings. After service, we stayed for some appetizers to nibble on and share our blessings to the pastors. (Mom didn't go. I didn't want to take her out since the rain began this afternoon. It is supposed to rain all night and warm up to around 70 tomorrow. Then, cool off again and perhaps something for Wed. depending on where the low is off the coast.)

Sad that, here we go again with my dad. He hasn't stopped calling me all day long. Remember, I mentioned I gave in and bought him some stuff the other night. Well, it's all gone now and he needs more. So far I haven't done anything and I don't want to get out in this sloppy weather. I guess he'll have to suffer another day. Sad I heard something disturbing. I managed to drive over to his house with Mom last night on the way back and grabbed his mail out of his mailbox. I did go in and give it to him. He told me that there was one letter from SS mentioning that they changed the pay date. So, he usually gets his on the 4th Wed. of the month. Now he will only get a partial amount this Wed. and the rest sometime in Dec. and December's pay. The big deal is that his bills are due the first of the month. I also am dreading that this running to bring him food will continue longer. That is why I bought this up. The good news I'll be working tomorrow and Tuesday. But, I DO NOT want to go shopping for him with all these last minute "turkey shoppers!" Sad that we had a nice day yesterday and he was too lazy to go out and try to see if he can get his car going. It never ends with him!

At least I have some good thing to end this. As I mentioned about being with Mom, the nurse walked in while we were getting ready. She told me that Mom told her that my visits makes her day. I noticed when I was taking Mom back last night, the tone in Mom's voice had that "happy sound" to it. Now that "made my day!" Now if we can just get Dad to shut up! :)

Have a good week!
