Good morning Claudie!

April 19 was the shot heard around the world, the beginning of our Revolutionary War. Like other holidays, Mass decided to celebrate it on the 3rd Monday so the non working holiday and the no school day could be enjoyed by all.

Enjoyed exploring the undersea world of the City of Rapture in the XBox 360 game of Biosphere. Wanted to get into it for 30 minutes, ended up playing for 3 hours. History of Rature. Give the side bar a quick read.

Had thawed out a frozen ziplock bag of cooked chili from last year. Added two low calories cooked hots cut into ¼" slices some cayenne pepper and melted cheddar cheese on top. It was an excellent lunch.

Saw the Netflix movie 2013 "The Family" rated R 1hr 51m superbly directed by veteran Luc Besson. The wife (Michelle Pfeiffer), daughter (Dianna Agron), and son (John D'Leo), of the La Cosa Nostra family of Giovani Mazoni of Brooklyn (Robert Di Niro), NY are relocated to Normandy, France, by the witness protection program.

Head Federal Agent (Tommy Lee Jones) watches the family's safety. The family has that Brooklyn attitude of dropping the F bomb. The first day the son takes a brutal kicking on the floor in the boys room. The daughter goes on car ride w/4 guys who end up getting trounced w/her tennis racket. The wife goes to the town store for PB, gets chastised for being an American, then blows up the market.

It is a comedy, crime, and a thriller that has an excellent flow. The movie kept my attention from the start. The last 20 minutes sees one of the most intense gun battles ever.

As the Mazoni family drives off into the setting sun, Pfeiffer says, "Now we have to change our names again". DiNiro says, "All in all, it was good day." Lots of suspense, action, and laughter. 5/5 stars

The high was 72° and it rained ever so gently. Went outdoors for several hours and created a to do list for the spring. Will begin with a ¾" nylon netting for the strawberries and grapes to keep the small sparrows from flying in the sides.

The temp is 50°F (10°C) and is the high. There is an 40% chance of rain. It is raining lightly

Have a fabulous day!

Good evening/morning Claudie

The fingers are a little bruised, but not thankfully broken.

Tuesday night and Happy Earth Day to one and all. A lot of talk going around about going green. It's a great thought, but I think going green should be year round not just this week. Much like Breast Cancer Awareness and everyone breaks out the pink throughout October. It's great that awareness is raised and it's something serious that should be tackled just like all forms of cancer. It shouldn't have to stop on November 1st nor should the efforts of keeping our planet clean only be focused on the last full week of April. I think it's something that should be focused on year round. The planet is much like our bodies. We only have one of them, and properly maintaining them is important to keeping them around for a long long time.

Breezy and cool 50s here.

Good afternoon, attitash, MusicTeacher, and Robustus!

attitash, happy golfing (tomorrow)!!

MusicTeacher, hope your dad got home from the hospital and you got the deal on the car.

Robustus, okay then, tomorrow is the day you'll be working on your mom's old apartment. As for your dad, just don't let him bother you; that's all!

Hi Claudie!

Getting ready for work in the next few minutes.

Found out some-kind of good news. My mom got in touch with our landlord and he is willing to wait until Saturday to get things out. He wasn't too enthused, but at least he's willing to wait.

So, I'm off work tomorrow. I hope my dad doesn't bother me too much to get things done this time! However, I'm going to be hauling the stuff from my mom's place and storing it in his garage. Then, I'll sort things out that will go with me and store the rest of the stuff until I find something to do with it.

Well, time's ticking by. So, I gotta go! I hope you have a good evening. I hope everything went well with you and your mom this morning! (Sorry I didn't get a chance to read down.)

Good Morning, Claudie ♬ I am glad your morning went well with taking your Mom out to her errands at WM and the Doctor's Office for another routine blood test. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Thank you for your kind thoughts for my Dad, and also for the prospective used Honda-CRV deal. Yes, I usually post details about happenings and various updates at my Studio, so please do try to look for detailed updates on my Dad over there. I don't want to post too many details on my rounds, as it will attract too much attention from others that I rarely or never chat with, and I don't want to entertain too much attention away from my Studio at others' GB homes.

Today is my day off from teaching and I look forward to a full day of doing light tasks at home, catching up on rest after last Holy Week's busy schedule with my participation in "The Choice" Easter Musical Drama, and errands including a potential deal on a 2005 Honda-CRV that my Parents and I √ed out at a Dealership yesterday.

Happy Earth Day!

Back from taking Mom to WM for shopping and then going to the cardiologist's office for some lab work. :)

Hello, sandipaws, hmcsretired07, attitash, and Farful!

sandipaws, time for some relaxing. :)

hmcsretired, thanks for stopping in!

attitash, alright! You get to golf earlier than you thought! When did you think the course was going to start being open?

Farful, I will probably hear from the doctor's office tomorrow some time about Mom's potassium and sodium levels; hoping they're good. If they are, we don't have to do that again for 3 months. <crosses fingers>

Good morning, Dino, yankie, MidnightSun, JM, Pard, scout, TUrtLE, and dickc49!

Dino, hmmmm, a song that starts with Q? I'll have to think on that one. Hope your fingers didn't get hurt too much.

yankie, thanks for stopping in!

MidnightSun, Patriot's Day? Hmmmm, my family lived in the Boston area for 2 years when I was a teen, and I remember that day. However, for some reason I thought it was on April 19th. How come they 'celebrated' it yesterday instead, I wonder.

JM, oh, gosh! Alex is sure getting older fast! Happy birthday to her! Any special plans for her birthday? BTW, when's your next game?

Pard, yesterday was a great day for a soccer game (even in Newnan)! Good thing they got that game in yesterday b/c later today, it's supposed to rain.

scout, sounds like it was a good night all around for you last night. :) Good luck to your team in the playoffs!

TUrtLE, boy, those people from the county website sure do take some great pictures! Ken Gagne, too! Thanks for sharing.

dick, have a great ski day!

It's Tuesday, so I'm taking Mom to the store this morning. On the way back, we'll stop at the cardiologist's office to have blood drawn so Mom's potassium and sodium numbers can be checked. It's supposed to rain today, but thankfully not 'til later. Should be a dry day for our trip out. :)

Good morning Claudie,

Changed my mine last night. While checking driving directions and time discovered that it would take too long to get to Killington from here in Maine. I am headed up to Sugarloaf instead. A bit longer of a drive home after skiing, but a much shorter drive this morning. As soon as breakfast is done I will pack the car and head out. I will still get a trip or two or three in at Killington before they close.

Good Morning Claudie and Friends,
Claudie, I'll cross my flippers that you have sun on May 3rd.

Today is National Earth Day. (Some History)

Each year on April 22, it is National Earth Day. This annual day is held to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

John McConnell pioneered the name and concept of Earth Day in 1969 at a UNESCO Conference in San Francisco. His thought, for Earth Day, was to have it be the first day of spring, March 21, 1970 and that day was sanctioned in a Proclamation signed by Secretary General U Thant at the United Nations. One month later a separate Earth Day, focused on the United States, was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson. This day was created to be an environmental teach-in to be held on April 22, 1970. The original national coordinator in 1970, Denis Hayes, launched an organization and took it international in 1990, organizing events in 141 nations.

In 2009, the April 22 date was designated as International Mother Earth Day by a consensus resolution adopted by the United Nations. The Earth Day Network now globally coordinates Earth Day and it is annually celebrated in more than 192 countries.

Good morning Claudie!

Will eat out this week instead.

Yesterday was Patriots' Day in Mass, Wisconsin, and Patriot's Day in Maine. It is a public holiday that commemorates the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, Mass on April 19, 1775. These were the first battles of the American Revolutionary War.

Since 2007 The Boston Marathon has started on Patriots' Day between 9:30 am and 10:00 am, resulting in the racers going through Kenmore Square near Boston's Fenway Park towards the middle of the Red Sox game.

The Boston Red Sox have been scheduled to play at home in Fenway Park on Patriots' Day every year since 1959. They have the earliest baseball game in all of MLB with the game start at 11 AM

Over 36,000 runners entered the 118th running of the Boston Marathon. Showing that the Boston bombing s last year with 264 injured and 3 dead, 1 a child, did not dampen the Spirit Patriots' Day.

Meb Keflezighi won the Elite Men’s division, becoming the first American to win the Boston Marathon since 1983, finishing in a time of 2:08:37 for the 26.2 mile run.

The winner from the Elite Women’s division was Kenyan Rita Jeptoo, finishing in 2:18:57.
More on Patriot's Day.

Listened to the home team play baseball against the Baltimore Orioles at 11:05 AM via the internet. Went outdoors several times when the visitor's were at bat.The temp climbed to a super 70. Tough 7-6 loss, exciting tho.

Shorts and a t-shirt were worn. See the striped maples buds are opening, the daylilies are growing, some of the perennials are growing, as are the strawberries.

Looks like 3 of the ever bearing plants did not make it through the extra cold and long winter. Plan on growing green beans. Had very good luck last year. This area is Zone 2. No one plants until Memorial Day w/e.

The temp is 50°F (10°C) with the high to be 72°F (22°C). There is an 80% chance of rain.

Have a wonderful day!

Good evening/morning Claudie

As promised, I told you I'd drop you a hint on the jukebox tune this week. Being a tune starting with "Q" there wasn't much to pick from, but I found one. The artist is female and the tune was her biggest hit in the early '80s. I even own a copy of this as a "45".

Rain moving in later tonight will take the mild temps with it. Had a bit of a blonde moment Sunday afternoon. Went to pick up Emily for dinner and as I started to get out of the car I thought I'd put my sunglasses on the dash. When I went to close the door, I didn't realize my fingers were in the way. Until too late. I can proudly say I can publish anything I said here, because I didn't yell any expletives. Too many kids nearby. What I was thinking, well, that's a different story. Have a good start of the week everybuddy.

Good evening, attitash, yankie, and Robustus!

attitash, our grass is growing, though, kinda slowly right now. Have had good rain this Spring so that sure helps. The entire yard is all almost green now (weeds and grass).

yankie, thanks for stopping in this evening!

Robustus, glad to hear you're back to working out; I wondered about that last week. That massage bed sounds wonderful! 7 minutes at a time, huh? Hmmmm, can you not get back on it (after you get off from your 7 minutes) and do it again and again and again? That was good stuff you got for your dad at BJ's; hope he appreciates it. Hope you can find some time to get the apartment cleaned out, too.

Time for me to sign out for the night.

Good night, everybuddy!

Good evening Claudie!

Back to work today at the normal place. With Easter being over it wasn't too busy as customers go. But, they kept me pretty busy. Tomorrow is our inventory. Fortunately, I don't have to deal with the counting stuff and all that technical stuff. I just needed to put all the stuff they found hidden around and on shelves back in the right place. It is amazing what stuff is found when you go around digging out stuff! I think I found a bag of microwave popcorn that expired in 2012! So, I have to put that in the damaged goods area which a lady is there to be take it off our inventory. She also is in charge of the receiving area of the store to make sure we get the stuff off the trucks and deal with the vendors.

Anyway, they found about 3 or 4 large cartfulls of stuff for me to try to get back. However, I didn't finish it. So, the guy who came in after I left has to finish it. I also had to keep up with my regular duties like keeping the carts in from the parking lot and assist in bagging, if needed, etc.

I'm glad that I won't be going into work until 4 tomorrow afternoon instead of the usual morning time. So, I don't have to worry about dealing with more of that mess.

On to other things. It definitely feels good to get back into the routine again. I skipped working out last week due to the mess with my dad. So, I was happy I went after work. I had to take it a little easy since I had to get used it all over again. But, once I got started it wasn't too hard to get going. The best part is that they offer a massage bed (Hydromassage) you can get on. They also have massage chairs, but the Hyrdomassage is a lot better! Too bad they only allow to use it 7 minutes at a time. But, it is free with my membership.

Whew! I thought the day was over after the workout. But, I gave in and went to get a few things for my dad at BJ's. I grabbed the giant 2-pack of Jif peanut butter, some bread, and a gallon of milk for him. Then, I was nice to surprise him with a sandwich from Jimmy John's. (I'm sorry but I still love my dad and it makes me feel good sometimes to see how he reacts to being surprised. I just worry about him taking advantage of that. I just want him to see that I do care about him at times. Although, he needs to realize I can't do that all the time.) So while I got him something, I picked up a few things for myself. So, it wasn't a total waste to "cater to him."

OK, I finally got home around 8 this evening after being gone since 9:20 this morning. Thank goodness, like I said, I don't go into work until 4 tomorrow afternoon. I just worry that I see rain is in the forecast for tomorrow evening. I hope it isn't too bad to work in it! I don't want to get soaked gathering up the carts outside! (That is the worst part of my job. Then the customers get so picky about getting wet shopping carts when they go shopping!)

The apartment saga is still going on next door. The landlord is getting in touch with my mom and he's not too happy with her. I hope things can get "cleared" away soon! I mean real soon!

Good Morning, Claudie ♬ Enjoy your stay-at-home day today. that is good your Yard Keeper did his work at the scheduled time as agreed upon.

Thank you for your concern about my Dad's health scare. I thank God it was nothing more than that, and I do hope and pray he can return home today. Thank you also for your kind thoughts for my busy Easter Sunday with the Church Picnic at the Park, and Day 4 and Shows #5 and #6 of the Easter Musical Drama Production. I thank God that my long entire day did go well, in spite of my Dad's health scare. Thankfully yesterday's sunny and cool weather was perfect for the picnic, and just for the entire day in general. Sunny days like yesterday also help with higher attendance at Shows like my recent drama production. When it rains, people here in CA tend to make excuses not to attend Concerts and Shows. If I really want to attend a Show, I don't let the rain stop me.

Today I look forward to taking it easy at home, catching up on much needed rest, and also doing some errands that I was unable to do during my past four days of performing for "The Choice" Easter Musical Drama Series at The Rock Church in Anaheim, CA. Tonight I have one Violin Student to teach.

Have a Beautiful Monday!

Okee dokee! Yard is done (they got here about 9 and were done by 11) and looking good. I made arrangements to have the yard 'done' again next Wednesday (instead of 2 weeks from today) b/c we're having our Spring family get-together a week from Saturday (on May 3rd, at my house) and I want the grounds to look purty. :) There's a possibility of rain on Tuesday, so if the yard's too wet to do on Wednesday, they can come Thursday instead. Haven't seen the prediction for May 3rd, but I sure hope it's nice; not like last year where is poured ALL DAY LONG!!

Hello, Pard, Farful, attitash, Bus Jockey, and hmcsretired07!

Pard, our Easter Sunday was good, too. :)

Farful, glad to hear your pollen count is low today; hope it doesn't get too high over the next few days. Yesterday's weather was fantastic, though, Saturday's was drizzly. I'm guessing a lot of Easter egg hunts were cancelled or moved indoors, unless they were rescheduled for yesterday.

attitash, so you were able to get the whole yard raked yesterday, huh? Is it ready to be mowed or is the grass still too short?

Bus Jockey and hmcsretired, thanks for stopping in!

Good morning Claudie and All!

Pollen scale shows lower count today. This scale looks easier to read at a glance.

Weekend weather was wonderful for Easter. Was glad to visit with all the kids.

Welcome to Monday!

Good morning, grmoore and sandipaws!

grmoore, hope you get good results from the dental appointment.

sandipaws, it's going to be warm here today, too (in the mid-70s) and then rain is supposed to move into tonight. Thank goodness it'll be sunny today!

Greetings Claudie/friends:

Happy Monday! 52 degrees this morning.

Easter services went well. Following the second service, we met our daughter for lunch; she's doing well. My day started really early yesterday so I had to get in a nap late yesterday afternoon.

I have a dental appointment (routine semi-annual) later this morning so I will work from home for the morning and then go into the office after lunch.

Off to start the day.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, Robustus, Dino, Silverhand, MidnightSun, jqwright, JM, senile, scout, TUrtLE, and dickc49!

Robustus, glad you were able to get your mom to your church for the services and for a meal afterwards. I bet that made her happy.

Dino, glad you had good weather for Easter also. Thankfully our rain from Saturday moved out and the sun was able to come out. :)

Silverhand, thanks for the Sunday 'toons. :)

MidnightSun, yeah, probably a good thing you didn't try to go to that restaurant yesterday. More than likely it was packed. Go one day this week, and it'll probably not be so busy. That predicted temp for today should do a job on that remaining mound of snow you have.

jqwright, it was a nice Easter for us; thank you. :)

JM, oh, my! Alex's birthday tomorrow? I forget how old she'll be; will she be 11?

senile, thanks for stopping in!

scout, you'll probably need that exercise from the dancing after you had that yummy Easter meal!

TUrtLE, wow! That's a huge rose bush! It looks like KHF has lots of flowers allover her place!

dick, no more skiing for you after today? Have a good time!

Not much going on here for me today. The yard guy's coming to do his thing (at 9 AM); thank goodness it's going to be another beautiful day. Me? Well, we'll see. :)

Good morning Claudie,

I'm up and at em to go skiing for the last day here in Maine for this season. While Vermont still has some days left, for Maine, this is it. Will be out at 9AM when the mountain opens.

Good Morning Claudie and Friends,
What you are looking at is a Charlotte Bruner rose bush that is growing in KHF's yard. That's ONE bush as in singular. Also keep in mind that you are looking at only one side of it. Too bad I couldn't take one pic of the entire rose bush.

KHF says the rose was planted by the lady who was the original owner of her house, so she is guessing that it is over 50 years o*d.

I hope you each had a relaxing and enjoyable Easter Sunday, and now you are ready for the final full week in April.

We had a great Easter! Fantastic Easter church service! Our son came over for dinner. I cooked ribs on the grill! Mrs. Scoutmaster made parsley potatoes and broiled asparagus! Yummy!

Back to dancing tonight!

Good morning Claudie~~

Good morning Claudie!

The pollen site doesn't explain its count, just has it. Today is the warmest day of the week. Bye bye snow.

Decided not to eat at finest restaurant in the area which is The Topic of the Town for Easter. (The meals are much better than the token facebook page). Really did not want to eat an expensive all you can eat buffet.

Selected cooking Beef Stroganoff at 4 AM. Used the 1½ lbs of extra lean beef stew meat that was marked erroneously as chicken nibblers by the assistant meat cutter the day before. He said he accidently hit the incorrect code which priced two pkgs at $3.39 instead of the normal $4.99.

An diced onion, a tbsn of Worcestershire, a 10.75 oz can of condensed golden mushroom soup, 1/4 cup water, 4 ounces cream cheese 4-6 cloves of diced garlic, and the beef were crock pot cooked on high for 4 hours.

8 oz of baby bella mushrooms were sliced thick and cooked separately in the microwave oven. A 2 qt pyrex bowl of water was heated in the oven and this time tri-color rotini was nuked for 11 minutes.

A stem of asparagus was snapped in half, where the stem snaps is the correct location to cut off the all the bottoms. Cut the tops diagonally 1¼" long and nuked them. The are steamed in a Pyrex bowl covered. Then carrots were sliced about ⅜" thick and also steamed.

When the crock pot saw four hours of cooking, the porcelain 6 qt container was placed on my butcher block table. 4 oz of sour cream was stirred in along w/the sliced mushrooms, asparagus, and carrots. Had this excellent meal around 8:30.

Played Biosphere for 90 minutes then chose to take a ride to the Woodsville, NH Super Walmart. It is a most scenic drive along US Rt 302 West. Beginning in Littleton it parallels the Ammonoosuc River. Then the Wild Ammonoosuc River empties into it in the Village of Bath, NH.

Bought many food items at the Super WM store Spent over $35 which is rare for me. The best deal was a hefty 24 oz coconut custard 8" pie for just $3.99. Went to Shaw's and bought Hood Mt Washington chocolate ice cream. It has chocolate covered peanut butter cups the size of M&M's. The 3 Day Wicked Awesome w/e sale saw a 1.5 qt (1.4 litre) for only $1.99

The temp reached 60°F (14°C) yesterday. Went oputdoors for 2 hours of sun and vitamin D. There is a 10' by 30' mound of snow 8-10" deep over my perennial flower gardenand the 25' long daylillies. Much of the the rest of the snow has completely melted.

The temp is 30°F (-1°C) with the high to be 72°F (22°C).

Have a pleasant day!
