Good morning, JM and hmcsretired07!

Good idea not to be travelling until the day after Christmas. You probably won't run into nearly as much traffic!

hmcsretired, thanks for stopping in!

Good morning, WKGaser, jjdm, senile, grmoore, TUrtLE, and org!

jjdm, too bad you had a busy, stressful shift in the customer service booth on Friday. Hopefully the next time you work there, it will be better.

grmoore, yes, today is another busy one for you, but all good. :) Hope the Panthers win today!

TUrtLE, aaahhh, a nice Sunday movie today! Thanks for sharing!

org, hmmmmm, I have heard of Naismith. I wonder if he played basketball, too.

WKGaser and senile, thanks for stopping in!

Another busy day here for me/us!

Son, Alhana and I will be leaving about 10:15 to go visit Mom for about an hour (we'll leave when she goes downstairs to the dining room for lunch); on the way back home we're going to stop at a local pizza place and get a pizza (of course) and what's called 'crazy bread.' All that'll be taken home for lunch and for watching the Falcons/New Orleans Saints game. Hoping for a win today for the Falcons!

On this date, in 1891, the first basketball game, invented at Springfield College in Massachusetts by James E. Naismith, was played.

Welcome to Sunday, Claudie!

Good Morning Claudie,
Thanks. I'll look at FB later today.

Your Sunday Christmas movie is entitled, Christmas Through The Eyes Of A Child by Patsy McNutt Morgan.
The song is "O Christmas Tree," by Magical Christmas Instruments, vol 3.
It's a Steve Politte presentation.

Note that you need to scroll down on the web page for the movie.

May you have a blessed Sunday!

Greetings Claudie/friends:

Happy Sunday! 47 degrees and raining this morning (didn't think it was supposed to rain today!)

I had a good call yesterday for the Holiday Classic Women's Basketball tournament; unfortunately the Panthers team didn't have a good game losing by 8 last night.

We completed our Christmas card prep and gift wrapping taking them to the Hapeville post office last night after I returned home from the basketball tournament outing.

Today is another rather busy day (but all good!) starting with worship at our daughter's church, then back to her house for our family Christmas, followed by my call of the Men's basketball game at 2:00p. It will be lots of things packed into a short time period, hence my early rise today.

Off to it.

Have a great day all!

Good evening, Claudie! Lots of beautiful lights.

Today’s Picture:
Washington Lights: Snail

On Friday, I worked a 2:30 pm - 11:30 pm shift in the customer service booth. It was a busy and stressful shift. On Saturday, I worked a 10 am - 6 pm shift in grocery. Though, I did a little of everything! After work, Mom and I had stuffed mushrooms for dinner and went to visit Grandma. Then I did some Christmas shopping with Katie and went on a drive with her.

Good evening, yankie, TUrtLE, Robustus, and Scanman!

yankie, thanks for stopping in!

TUrtLE, today's been tiring, what with all 3 kids around for about 4 hours. Actually I think it's Jake who wears me out the most, but then he IS hyper! BTW, pix from today on FB.

Robustus, good that you went to see your mom, even if it was for a short time. Not too bad at BJ's, huh? Not surprised. I figured everybuddy would be at the malls and the department stores. Tomorrow afternoon will be even crazier!

Scanman, me rested up? Well, not right now, but when things are slower, yeah, I get to take it easy. As for the kids....hmmmm, the last time they got together was in early May when I had a family thingie here at my house. Jake and Alhana still get along like best buds!

Whew! Time for me to sign out for the night. Might not be staying up a whole lot longer!

Good night, everybuddy!

Good evening Claudie!

Whew! What a day!

Opened up the news websites and said snow was reported in the Triad area. Sure enough it was right. When I walked out to my car, there was drizzle with a few flakes mixed in. Then, the flakes started getting bigger on my way to work. Nothing stuck. But it was pretty. But it made a wet mess outside making it cold damp and dreary all day.

As for work, it was pretty busy as I expected it to be. So I was outside most of the day keeping up with the shopping carts. However, things slowed down quite a bit from 2 until just before I got off at 4. The good thing about working this time of year is that I get to know the Salvation Army bell ringers and we get to chat back and forth while I am outside. So it gives me a little company. Unfortunately, I think they don't work on Sunday, so tomorrow I'll be back by myself.

Anyway after work was the usual visit with Mom. Nothing new with her.

Then I attempted to get some groceries for myself over at BJs. The parking lot was quite full but not too crazy. I used the self checkout so I didn't have to wait long.

So more of the same tomorrow except my shopping.

Good afternoon, attitash and Mrs. Wrench!

attitash, yes, I was a 6th grade Science teacher for a looooong time! When this school year ends in late May, I will have been retired for 10 years. :) I loved the Magic School Bus videos! When the kids watched them, I don't think they ever realized how many facts they were getting.

Mrs. Wrench, kids are gone now; Son took Jake and Emma back home about 3:30. When Son and Alhana got back, we did Alhana's Christmas. Now everybuddy's settled down for a while. I'm trying to work on the pix I took today of the kids. It was a good day, esp. for the kids, but a tiring one for me. Whew!

Hi there Claudie, sure sounds like the kids are having a ball & enjoying each others company. I bet they missed Alhana. Too bad it'll only be a short visit.

Still haven't gotten the large print face back on my GB's so I'm answering questions on NJ until Wrench can figure out what happened I'll have to post prices on hos computer. Enjoy the kids & get a good rest when they leave.

Okay!

Half of this day/time is over and I am still surviving! LOL

Daughter got here with Jake and Emma about 11:30, and hubby, Son, and I took them out to eat and then play at the play place. Got back about 45 minutes ago; the kids opened open their presents to each other (Emma and Jake each got gift cards to different places, and Alhana got 2 packs of Pokémon cards), and now they're playing video games. Too bad it's gray and drizzly outside. :(

Anyway, Son and Alhana will take Jake and Emma back home about 3, and then when they come back, we'll do Alhana's Christmas. Whew!

Hello, org, hmcsretired07, TUrtLE, grmoore, attitash, Farful, and TC!

org, whew! That's sure was a pricy purchase!

TUrtLE, the kids are pretty much hanging out with each other today, but that's okay b/c that's what this day was all about. :)

grmoore, wow, busy today. Have a great time at the family dinner tonight!

attitash, sun? None here! As for my avatar....her name is Ms. Frizzle, and she is the main character in a video/TV series called "The Magic Schoolbus." She is s Science teacher, like I was; I used to show my students the videos b/c they cover lots of the same things we studied.

Farful, it sure is noisy here right now with Jake and Emma hanging out with Alhana!

hmcsretired and TC, thanks for stopping in!

Greetings Claudie/friends:

Happy Saturday! 44 degrees this morning and has been raining.

Yesterday was a productive day even though I had to occasionally engage the office for end of year actions and my medical appointment(s) took a good bit of time. The first appointment went well but he ordered a comprehensive x-ray workup so I had to travel to another location and await the results to be published to a CD and return it to the first doctor. I should find out something next week. In spite of this
"squashing the morning", my wife completed all but a few small items for our Christmas shopping (since I was a week behind due to my international travel). :)

Today will be a pretty light day until later this afternoon when I will sub for the Women's basketball team PA Announcer. This is the second day of their Holiday tournament. I have my regularly scheduled men's basketball game tomorrow at 2:00p directly preceded by dinner and our annual Christmas celebration hosted by our daughter at her place in Atlanta.

Off to start the day.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, WKGaser, Mrs. Wrench, senile, and JM!

Mrs. Wrench, aaawww, what a sweet thing for your SIL to do for your daughter. Such a nice surprise. :)

JM, we'll pretty much stay home for Christmas and have a big meal here. One of us will go get Mom and bring her here for presents and the meal, plus Daughter and the kids will come, too. That'll pretty much be it. :)

WKGaser and senile, thanks for stopping in!

Well, Son and Alhana got back here about 10 last night; it was soooo good to see her! It was just a short time together then since everybuddy pretty much went to bed after that (both Son and Alhana had gotten up about 6 yesterday morning for work and school).

Another busy day here...Daughter will be bringing Jake and Emma over about 11:30; we'll take the kids out to eat and play at a local fast food place, and then bring them back here for a few hours of spend-together time. The plan is for Son to take Jake and Emma back home mid-afternoon; when he (and probably Alhana) get back, we'll 'do' Alhana's Christmas. After that, I'll probably need to rest up for the rest of the day! :)

Hi Claudie, just a quick stop as I'm Wrench's computer, for some reason my print went so small I can hardly see it so he will check it tomorrow. I was glad to hear that Alhana will be coming to see you. Hope she has a good visit.

Our first born turned 60 today, our SIL gave her a surprise party tonight. She said she would love to have her best friend from back home be there & he told her that wouldn't happen. Well they did drive down(14 hours each way) to surprise her. Bet there were a lot of tears. We told him to have a lot of tissues there.

Good evening, Robustus, Lighting10K, TUrtLE, fliper, and yankie!

Robustus, yum! All that good eating! Enjoyable!

Lighting, yes, back to a doctor's appointment on Monday (the orthopedic doctor) and then to the lab at the heart doctor's office on Tuesday. Whew! As for Sunday's game, hoping the Falcons come out on top. If they lose, there's no chance of a playoff spot. Good luck with your painting!

TUrtLE, no, they're not here yet. I don't expect them for maybe another 45 minutes or so. Remember, it takes about 2 hours for them to get back from the 'meeting place.' "Are we there yet?" Yeah, I remember that! <shakes head> Used to drive me crazy!

fliper and yankie, thanks for stopping in!

Time for me to sign out for the night.

Good night, everybuddy!

Good evening Claudie!

I got over to "work" at 2:30 and there was still plenty of food left. One guy made this stuff called "corn pudding." It was like cream style corn with some kind of breading with it. It was actually pretty good. (Please forgive me if you know what that is.) Of course, ham and all the fixin's. There was a guy who used to work with me dressed up in a Santa Claus suit. Then another lady was with us and we were chatting about the former co-workers we worked with. Some stories just were amusing about them. So, that was good. By the way, I didn't get a chance to get anything for that.

However, when I got done with that, it was time to head over to Mom's. I had a hard time deciding what to bring. The bakery lady suggested I get cupcakes again. So, we had some on sale with Christmas decorations on it. They were cute with some had plastic things on it that looked like old fashioned Christmas tree light bulbs. Others had decorations saying "Merry Christmas." Anyway, her party didn't start until 6, so I didn't get there until 4. So, I had plenty of time to work up another appetite. That was some good food there, too. As it seems like the thing to do (I know MidnightSun is going to get me) is to indulge in all the goodies. They had ham and roast beef. Then all the guests/families of the patients/residents bought in something. So, they had about everything you could imagine. Good stuff.

So, today I was joking that I am surprised I got myself out of bed to make in to work after all the "stuffing" yesterday. Mom and I had a great time.

As work went today, it started off sort of crazy as I thought it would be. However around 1, things started slowing down a little. So, it wasn't too bad. Plus the nice weather made a difference. Now tomorrow will be a different story. It is supposed to be drizzly and off and on showers with a high in the low 40's all day. I work 10-4. Now I assume most people are now off for Christmas break or maybe the rest of year, things are going to start getting crazy busy!

Yes, TUrtLE, needless to say, I was VERY happy to finally get back home when I did early this afternoon.

I just heard from Son, who is almost at the place where he's supposed to pick up Alhana. It seems they didn't leave 'til about 6, so it'll be about 7:30 before they get there. :(

Oh, me! Oh, my!

What an unbelievable day out!

Actually...picking up Mom and then getting back to the doctor's office wasn't that bad. It all started when we got to the doctor's office and couldn't find ANY parking places, then one opened up, but we had to walk quite a ways to the building. :( Not bad for me, but bad for Mom.

The wait time to get into the exam room wasn't really that bad either; got in about 10:30, the appointment time, and the nurse did her thing; we waited for the doctor maybe 5 minutes. Not bad either. However we found out that he doesn't prescribe anything for low sodium levels; they 'let' the kidney doctor do that. He said besides that, they need to know WHAT'S causing the problem; he also mentioned that any meds for sodium wreak havoc with blood pressure. :( Anyway, blood was drawn to check out the liver (I think) and the thyroid; he also checked her protimes/ITR (thank goodness they have a machine right there that can give the results), and it was WAAAAAY too high! Alright, stop taking the meds for that and get it rechecked on Tuesday. Oh, gosh! Another appointment! :(

By this time (about 11:45), the traffic had picked up and was now a disaster! Waaaaaah! Took me forever to get home, but now I'm here and going to 'rest.'

Hello, Scanman, Farful, TUrtLE, and dickc49!

Scanman, mileage? Hubby says about 22 mpg around town and about 28 mpg on the highway. Yup, good thing the gas prices are down.

Farful, hey! I like your dermatologist attitude! Wish more doctors were like that.

TUrtLE, I'm alright on memory games, though, I haven't played any in a while.

dick, sounds like you've got a lot of ski time coming up! Good luck on today's PT appointment!

Good morning Claudie,

First PT is at 4PM. Don't have to go anywhere until then. Hope the trip to get Mom and drive all over the place went OK. We will not head to Maine later today, but I will head to Vermont early Sunday morning to ski for the day. Still figuring out the Christmas week. Not sure if we go north on Christmas Day or the next day, but we can go up for most of a week.

Claudie, you're braver than I am. I never was good at the memory game. My kids always beat me.

Good morning Claudie and All!

Claudie, How nice that Hubby helped with chores! Cannot beat that.

Hope that you have a safe trip and short wait for your Mom's follow-up appointment today. Nice that Alhana will be staying with you.

Dermatologist is very punctual. She allows so much time for each patient. She will let you know if are not on time too. :/

TGIF!

Good morning, Peeka, sandipaws, and grmoore!

Peeka, yes, we'll give her the presents probably tomorrow afternoon.

sandipaws, I'll have a few hours to take it easy before Son gets back with Alhana.

grmoore, hope the doctor's appointment goes well for you today.

Okay!

Time for some breakfast and then getting the show on the road!
