Good Morning, Claudie ♪ So sorry about the lack of ordering enough of the right blood tests from your Mom's Doctor, that you have to return your Mom to the Doctor's Office for another round of blood tests. Have a good morning visit with taking your Mom to the Doctor's Office, errands on the way back home, and good remainder of the day at home!

Thank you for letting me know you will √ out my FB pictures from Church Youth Camp later on today. I will be adding the remainder of the Church Youth Camp pictures today.

Yes, you are correct! I do have a lot of pictures from our weekend at Church Youth Camp. So far I have only finished uploading Day 1 of the camp pictures. I hope to finish organizing and uploading the rest of the camp pictures today.

This morning I will continue organizing and uploading the remainder of our Church Youth Camp 2014 pictures on my Photobucket and Facebook Albums, as well as copying them to two flash drives for sharing with our two Pastors. Today at noontime my Mom and I will be attending our weekly Prayer Meeting at Church. After Church we will do errands and tasks at home as needed.

Have a Sweet Wednesday!

Good morning Claudie,

Went to Plymouth yesterday. My back did pretty well as I had hoped. My sister and I visited with her friend who does research work on Mayflower ancestors. We looked at four lines of descendancy I was interested in. We found two did not pan out, but found two others that seem quite sound. I will apply this weekend or there abouts for formal acceptance to the society with the line that looks to be the easiest to prove. The line with my wife involved did not pan out. It appears that one of the men involved had two wives. The first born son was from the first wife, not the Mayflower wife. Right guy, wrong woman. I did have a very good time looking around the library and do wish I lived closer as it has a really great supply of books to research things in.

Got home to find my new monitor for my new PC had finally arrived. I hooked it up and could not get it to work right. Plugged it onto my old PC to test it, and it works quite fine. Looked a bit father on my new PC to discover that the video card is pegged as "having a problem" bu windows, so its driver is disabled. It WAS working just a week ago. Looking at Turtles notes and links, I suspect that the Microsoft updates may be at the root of my issue. Thanks to Turtles sharp eyes I might be able to fix it without calling people. I do remember a "double boot" the other day. Windows has a default behavior of rebooting on errors. I usually change this so that it just stops and displays the error. I have not done that with this PC yet. I am guessing the driver clashed with the update, and got disabled. Without the driver, the new monitor cannot communicate properly with the video card and negotiate the right display settings. ARRRRGGGGHHH! Something else I need to do that I should not need to do! This week is becoming a PITA!

PT this afternoon. Hope you got Mom to the lab and back OK. Too bad when others mess up your day or week!

Did you see PHX on national news about the flooding? Some areas had significant flooding w/people having to be airlifted out of their homes or cars? Some made poor decisions to drive through washes, but for others it was just Mother Nature.

Hope you finish with Mom & get your errands run today. Hubby is still home so have some company.

Good morning, grmoore,

Sure don't like the temperature predictions for the next few days. :(

Yes, another Braves win. Too bad they couldn't have done better earlier; well, maybe when they went on that last west coast trip. Doing better in the wild card standings, though. I guess I'm pessimistic; I don't think they'll do too well even if they DO get into the playoffs. I hope they surprise me, though.

Have a good eye appointment!

Greetings Claudie/friends:

Happy Wednesday! 73 degrees this morning.

Our first rehearsal went well last night; it will be a great concert season.

Good to see the Braves won again. The Nationals are also on a tear and we lost too many games lately. It's sure looking like we'll have to obtain a playoff berth via the wildcard race. We next attend a game on August 31st.

I have my semi-annual eye appointment this afternoon so it's off to work this morning and travel back south this afternoon. The building management is completing renovations so it's a bit of a "disaster" on our floor. I would telework today but need to go in to unpack moving crates to put back together my office.

Off to it.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, Dino, MidnightSun, yankie, hmcsretired07, TUrtLE, and scout!

Dino, the Meet the Teams event sounds like a fun event for everybuddy. Yeah, really small band for a high school. How many kids go to that high school?

MidnightSun, wow, lots of tree debris on the yard. Must have been some very strong winds after all the other day.

yankie and hmcsretired, thanks for stopping in!

TUrtLE, another blonde joke! <shakes head> Thanks for the morning chuckle and grin. :)

scout, no rain here; well, maybe the pop-up stuff. Coming into some really, really hot temps for us; the hottest of this summer, they say. Well, I can do without them.

Well, another early morning out for me. B/c of a screw-up at the PCP's office (lab work) yesterday, I have to take Mom to the cardiologist's office (thank goodness, just across the street from her place!) for some MORE bloodwork; gotta get blood drawn to check her sodium and potassium at a 9:15 appointment (for tomorrow's appointment). Hopefully it won't take long, and then I'll take Mom back home before I continue with my planned errands. Hoping for no glitches today. :)

Good Morning Claudie,

Photo by Ken Gagne off the county web site. Osprey swoops along the coast looking for his breakfast.

Blonde jokes continue:

Blonde: "I'm on the road a lot, and my clients are complaining that they can never reach me."

Psychiatrist: "Don't you have a cell phone?"

Blonde: "They're too expensive, so I did the next best thing: I put a mailbox in my car."

Psychiatrist: "And do you receive any letters?"

Blonde: "No, but I figure it's because when I'm driving around, my zip code keeps changing."

Good morning Claudie!

Got a written prescription for glasses. My first in 40 years. Use the same place for glasses since a kid. Fellows grandfather opened the biz back in the day. Own three pairs, No need for any more.

Saw an episode of "Orange is the New Black" yesterday morning. A privileged NY'er is sent to a women's prison for a crime committed in her past. In the Emmy Award winning comedy/drama series.

Two seasons of this show are on Netflix, the producer of the series, and a 3rd season is being filmed for release next July.

Went outdoors early. Ripped or dug crab grass that was beginning to grow in my gardens. Also pulled the jewel weed that grows so rapidly.

Also cut down many sword like 2" leaves and stalks of crocosmia lucifer that the rain laid flat a few days ago. It was smuffing out the sunlight of neighboring perennials and would have killed the lawn.

Found room that was 2' x 1' for a dozen flowers. Hightailed it to Sullivan Greenhouses where two 6 pack mixed marigold were on sale at half price. Two for $2.50.

Returned home to see how root bound the marigolds were. Used the blunt blade of a scissors to twist out the tangled roots. This method worked nicely and quickly.

Have the assorted colors of the dozen in the ground. Sprayed two small blocks of wood w/deer and rabbit repellent and added two scent containers on either ends.

Moved the front half of the lawn. The amount of twigs and leaves amazed me from the rain storm a few days ago. The mower did get only half of them. Will have to pick the twigs by hand. 100's of them.

Sat in the sun, added lots of deep tanning lotion, and read a book. Could hear something in the distance thrashing around in the forest. In fact looked up several times. It was a racoon, which was promptly chased away.

Civil twilight is 5:23 AM EDT. Night is 8:14 PM.

Sunrise: 5:54 AM. Set: 7:43 PM.

Length of day: 14h 48m. Length of visible light: 15h 50m. Tomorrow will be 2m 50s shorter.

The temp is 52° (11°C), the high is to be 79° (26°C) in clear skies.

Have a fabulous day!

Good evening/morning Claudie

Me too on the computer issues.
Tonight was the annual Meet the Team event at Tyler Consolidated showcasing the marching band and the various sports teams for the Fall season. Football, Golf, Cross Country, and Boys' and Girls' Soccer were all represented. The Soccer teams each almost outnumbered the football team. The band numbers only 30 members this year. Down considerably.

Warm evening. Temps in the low 70s. Ideal for August.

Hi Claudie!

No Wendy's today! Got the workout in again this afternoon. Everything seemed to much better today. However, today is the day I work out my legs so that is usually my strongest area. I saw a fellow co-worker in there. I went up to start talking to him and the trainer walked by and greeted us. He ended up talking to my friend asking about how his workout is coming along. Then, I pulled out the ragged sheet I've been using. The trainer commented how it looked like I lost a bunch of weight since I started coming. So, that was encouraging!

Went over to see my afterwards. She looked like I woke up her up, but had a big grin on her face when she saw me. She smiled, and laughed and said "Guess what? I ate all those grapes you bought me yesterday!" She seemed to be in good spirits since I'm there and as usual, enjoyed my company. Unfortunately, due to the workout and busy day at work, I only stayed for 20 minutes.

As for my dad. I wish I could say anything positive or new. Still pestering me to bring him some groceries since he's broke and out of food. I am little upset at a few things with him. I'm not trying to be mean but, I need to keep my distance from him for a little while. Hopefully, he can find a way to take care of himself rather than being dependent on me for every single thing!

I'll pick up Mom, take her to the lab, get that done (hopefully won't take TOO long; surely not as long as THIS morning!), take her back home, and then go on with my planned errands. :(

Didn't start off a good morning out, though, I got Mom in good time and we got to the doctor's office at 9:20 AM. B/c of one thing or another, we didn't leave until 10:05! Grrrrr! They also wouldn't check the protimes since, they said, we were coming in next Wednesday for an appointment ("you can do that then since you'll already be here;" But we're already there NOW, I wanted to tell them!); PLUS they weren't checking the sodium or potassium b/c that's what the cardiologist checks. Grrrrrrr again! So now I'm trying to get another lab for tomorrow morning (before Thursday's cardiologist appointment) so we can have the sodium and potassium numbers for the appointment.

Oh, good grief!

Anyway after we finally left the lab, we went to WM and everything was great from then on!

Just waiting now for a return call from the cardiologist's office.

Hello, TUrtLE, Scanman, Farful, and MusicTeacher!

TUrtLE, oh, dear! I have 3 of the 4 updates installed. I hope I can follow the directions to uninstall them. Thanks for the info.

Scanman, usually I don't like calls that early either, though, Daughter has called me before when she's on her way to work (about 7:45).

Farful, we're still getting several hummers visiting daily.

MusicTeacher, hope you can get your pictures all downloaded. I can imagine you have a lot of them.

Good Morning, Claudie ♩ That was nice of your Granddaughter Alhana to call you this morning to say Hello before going to school!

Have a great day with your Mom of getting her to the Doctor's Office for blood tests, WM, returning her home, and then doing your own errands before returning home.

Thankfully I did have a productive, stay-at-home day yesterday with putting away camping goods and housekeeping! It even helped that yesterday's Student rescheduled to today.

Today I look forward to a full day of doing tasks at home, organizing and uploading the Church Youth Camp pictures for sharing online, and errands as needed. Tonight I have one Violin Student to teach.

Have a Lovely Tuesday!

Greetings Claudie/friends:

Happy Tuesday! 72 degrees this morning.

Yesterday was relaxing but not without some "busyness." I started my day with a recheck at the Orthopedic doctor getting a steroid shot to the wrist and a referral to a month's worth of physical therapy to begin in September (since I'm on vacation the last week of August). This early escapade was followed by a trip to the vet for "138's" last series of shots and checkup. He's doing fine (didn't like the shots ~ but most "children" don't!). I had lunch with my son at noon(ish) and then capped off the day by attending the annual "state of Georgia State Athletics" and sportsmanship and ethics meeting at Georgia State. All-in-all, a great day.

I also took in two (exercise) walks, getting back to the house from the second one just before it poured rain, and finished off the night by watching the Braves beat the Pirates.

Tonight, I have my first orchestra rehearsal of the season.

Now, it's off to breakfast and work.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, Robustus, sandipaws, Dino, HappyHiker, MidnightSun, JM, hmcsretired07, scout, senile, attitash, and TUrtLE!

Robustus, glad to hear that you got a workout at the gym in. Having that Wendy's sandwich, though, undid all your work. :( I know your mom enjoyed those grapes you took her. :)

Dino, hope those computer issues at your job get taken care of soon.

HappyHiker, well, at least the Dodgers are still in first place! The Braves helped themselves in the wild card race by beating the Pirates last night. Maybe again tonight, too.

MidnightSun, so you got new glasses; did I understand you to say you're getting 3 new pair or you already HAVE 3 pair? I'm confused.

JM, we're going to have to figure out a time to meet up to get you those tickets; it might be crazy, though.

scout, well, I'll be darned! It IS my 9 year GB anniversary! I didn't even realize it! Thanks for the congrats!

attitash, thanks for the congrats, too. :) Is your wife going on all these day trips with you? How was the kayaying yesterday?

TUrtLE, blonde jokes! LOL! Thanks for the morning laugh...and the congrats on my 9 year GB anniversary!

sandipaws, hmcsretired, and senile, thanks for stopping in!

Whoo! Just got a scary surprise. It's about 7 AM here and the phone rings. Yikes! I figured it was either Mom or Daughter. Instead it was.....Alhana (her mom was there with her and had given her permission to call)! She just wanted to say that she hoped I had a good day. :) We talked for a few minutes and then hung up. A nice way to start the day.

I'm picking up Mom a little earlier this morning b/c she has to go to the doctor's office to do blood work for an appointment next week. Since it's a fasting lab, we're going earlier and then she can eat something on the way to WM (she didn't want to stop somewhere). Hoping, too, that I can get her back home for another 10:30 activity. After that, for me, I might have a coupla places to stop, and then it's on back home. Not too bad a morning, but an earlier one.

Good Morning Claudie,
Happy 9th GB Anniversary!!!

Jonathan Seagull from Ken Gagne, posted on the County web site.

For those of you with a good memory you will remember back when, I said that blonde jokes would continue. It's that time!

Once a blonde went to the library to get a book.

A few days later, she returns and says to librarian at the counter, "This book was very boring.

It had too many characters and too many numbers, so i would like to return it."

The librarian says to the other librarian, "So here is the person who took our phone book!"

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Good morning Claudie....a sunny day ahead with a high of 24°C/75.2°F. Off to run my son to a dental apt & then off for a hike. My wife will decide where we will go to follow the path. Happy 9th anniversary with GB....a real commitment! Have a great day.

Got the frame for the medicine cabinet sanded and the 1st coat of finish on. Mrs. Scoutmaster put more mud on the new piece of drywall. That is ready to sand then get the new light up!

Happy 9 year GB Anniversary!

Good morning Claudie!

One learns so much on each episode of "This Old House." Those 37 y/a that Elvis died seems like just a few.

Got lots of laughs watching 2 episodes of "Everybody Loves Raymond." Need an early morning laughter to cleanse the soul and face the pleasing day of sun.

No time to even think of a nap. Had an 8:15 appointment with the Littleton Hospital Ophthalmologist. Here is a man that does it all w/one's eyes, including laser surgery. Truly my first appointment in 40 years.

Asked for rec'd a photocopy of my last visit that documents ocular migraine and copies of all the other tests performed. Have a clean bill of eye health.

Got my eyes measured and checked for roundness and depth. Sphere is equal, cylindrical is a close .25 difference and the axis is .005 dif. Have 20/40 vision and my first eye glass prescription since 1974.

Own three sets of eye glasses. Two are clear plastic, one of them is a transition lens in the sunlight. One is permanently a prescription sunglass w/UV protection. Ideal for the snow covered mtns.

Bought four cans of condensed cream of mushroom soup at WM. Their Great value brand was $1.25 ea. Passed on the 2 lb bay shrimp and the 41-50 large shrimp. Did buy another 8 lb bag of epsom salts for $5.43.

Ent next door to Shaw's and saw their Essential brand of condensed cream of mushroom soup was on sale for 75¢ a can. Bought 8 cans and two cream of chicken.

Also bought a 2 lb frozen pkg of imitation crab for $1/99 a lb. An elderly lady spoke to me on the cost of meat, poultry and seafood that has increased tremendously.

Listened to her and them told her the only way to save is stock up and freeze the on sale items. She agreed w/me completely. Returned to WM and got my money back for the cans of condensed soup. Shaw's was 40% less.

Returned home to place the items away then went outdoors. Did lots of garden maintenance in the sun. Decided all 6 of the perennials bout and transplanted were not in the direct sun they needed.

Made a paper plan to move them later in the morning. Considered mowing the lawn. My hip hurt way too much from use in the hospitals and in the stores to mow. Will mow later on.

Civil twilight is 5:22 AM EDT. Night is 8:16 PM.

Sunrise: 5:53 AM. Set: 7:45 PM.

Length of day: 14h 51m. Length of visible light: 15h 53m. Tomorrow will be 2m 49s shorter.

The temp is 48° (9°C), the high is to be 73° (23°C), w/sunny skies later.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Claudie, congratulations to the Braves for their sweep of the A's, while we lost all three of our games with the Brewers.

Good evening/morning Claudie

Yep, two different counties for the school systems. By now, everyone in the area is back to school.

Stopping in to say hello since I didn't make it in last night. We were having computer issues at work. Seems like someone got the idea of putting in "updated" (I use that term lightly) computer systems. The result is that the computers are running much slower. I have a separate one attached to the forklift I drive that has locked up on me at least once. I've voiced my opinion on what I think of the new computer seeing that the previous one worked well. Putting it nicely, the new one sucks.

Anyway, back from a quiet weekend on my part. Got the yard caught up and that was about it. Got some more rain and it looks like August may start living up to it's name. Daytime temps in the upper 80s by the end of the week. And I thought Summer gave up on us since we sent the kids back to school.

Speaking of back to school, came across some videos I wanted to share with you. Movie Producer Steven Spielberg produced a series of cartoons for Warner Brothers back in the '90s that was a younger spinoff to the classic Looney Tunes characters called Animaniacs. I didn't watch these closely, but what I seen I thought was very funny and sometimes educational like in this case. If you have kids learning the states and capitals, you may want to show them this one. Enjoy

Good evening Claudie!

What a filled up afternoon for me!

I got back over to the gym and did a little workout after I got off work. Unfortunately, it seemed like I was starting all over again since I struggled. I know if I can keep up with it, then it will come back!

Afterwards, went to visit Mom again. As I walked in it looked like a big smile came on her face. I also bought her some green grapes that we had on sale at my store. I remember she used to love eating those all the time when I was a kid. I think she even said that was one of her cravings when she was pregnant for me. It looked like she enjoyed them.

Then, I went back across town to fill up my car. I see some stations are already raising prices. Some are 10-15 cents higher than a couple days ago! The Murphy USA station at Walmart near my mom's place is usually the cheapest in town. But now, it is up to $3.25 which was around $3.19 a couple days ago. However, across town down the road from my store is a Sheetz that is still $3.19 which I filled up at. Then, another one which is difficult getting into at $3.18.

I wanted to get home before the approaching T-storm hit, but didn't make it. I had to give in and go to Wendy's to get a sandwich. I know it wasn't the healthiest thing I have done. It doesn't help when Wendy's is across the parking lot from my store and when I'm out getting carts in, you get that aroma. This time I smelled their bacon cooking and had to have a Baconator. I know how bad it is for me, but I couldn't resist! Sad thing, I have half a pot of leftover goulash at home! (I didn't feel like going all the way to my dad's house to give him any. I'm not being selfish. I am a little upset of what I mentioned yesterday.)

By the way, the goulash turned out half-ways decent, not my best attempt. I think I added too much water leaving it a little watery. I like mine a little with the tomato soup giving it some "tomatoey" flavor. The spices were right on, so it got better as it set and absorbed more of the liquid.

Anyway back to this evening's events. I drove home and saw my landlord's car parked on the side of the street. I didn't want to pull in and deal with him right now. I don't have any disputes for him. I just wasn't in the mood to see him. I think he was showing my mom's old place to someone. I noticed the ad in the newspaper wasn't there yesterday (I've been peeking at the classifieds to see if he has listed it ever since my mom moved out.) So, I wonder if I'll be getting a new neighbor soon? In a way, I hope not. But for my landlord's sake, I do hope for him. I'm not ready to deal with sharing the driveway and all the racket that you can hear through the walls. Some of the past tenants been good, but some lately have been real jerks. So, I hope someone decent comes along.

I ended up going over to BJ's to hide from him. I ended up going in and buying a few things to eat later on. I didn't want to, but at least I'm stocked with some groceries and don't have to eat out like I did tonight.

By the way, I think I mentioned I'm not off until Wed. I double checked the schedule today and saw that it is Thurs. instead. At least, I don't have to go back in at night on Friday. I work all my usual time which is 10-3.

It looks like it's time for you turn in for the night. I hope you have a good night. Stay cool! The heat will be back on tomorrow!

Hello there, Justin!

Wow! Your description of your day (at work) yesterday sounds like it was a kind of slow day; maybe even a little boring. :(

Glad to hear that your mom can hopefully pick up some more hours at the other 2 Al's. When would that start?

Good afternoon, Claudie!

Today’s Pictures:
Lobstermania Details

Tree House

Yesterday I worked 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm, in the office. After work, Mom and I had Shrimp Fried Rice for dinner. Today we ran some errands. One of those errands included Mom talking with Jackie about hours. Jackie said that it shouldn’t be a problem getting Mom 16 hours whether it be at Al’s Karwick or Al’s Franklin (my store). Today I work 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm, in the office.
