Good evening Claudie,

Didn't get out for church this morning since we had some freezing rain in the area. Looks like it didn't amount to much to cause any problems. However my pastor did cancel our Bible Fellowship (Sunday School) classes. Unfortunately, I went back to sleep after I read the email about the cancellation and missed the entire service. So that's about it for my day. Nothing else new to "chat" about.

Hello, munchkins_mom, dickc49, JM, and yankie!

munchkins_mom, all I know about the stealing of that race car was that they were staying at a local hotel (not sure who was there, maybe the pit crew? Not sure if the car driver was also there; staying there b/c they got into the area about 11 PM Friday night)), and one of the guys went out about 5:45 to get ready to go, and it was all gone. Hotel surveillance cameras show it being taken about 5:30. I did mention, didn't I, that they had also recovered the pickup truck? The last I heard the trailer was still missing,

dick, I guess the only reason the race car wasn't in a secure area was b/c they got in so late Friday night. I did also hear that the team was anew team and didn't really have as much money to spend, like the bigger teams did. Anyway...from what you say, you're not going to be getting any sap any time soon. :(

JM, I have already renewed our Falcons' tickets for the up-coming season; I don't expect to see them or the parking passes until July or August. Right now, we're trying to decide whether or not to pursue tickets, PSLs, etc. for the 2017 season. Supposedly we need to talk to some representative about it, but I don't see it happening (buying the PSLs). We got something in the mail the other day, and it said, that based on where we sit in the Dome, we would be classified as Club Seats in the new stadium. Those PSLs are about $15,000 apiece. Not sure if I just want to see about getting other seats or not. I just don't like the whole idea of the PSLs. :(

Hi, Claudie. The rain started here around 3 pm today and it is taking out the last of the snow. By the way, when will you have your Falcons' tickets?

Good afternoon Claudie,

Saw the news reports later where they dumped the race car, but took off with the rest, including the spare motor. Leaves me wondering why these things are not left at a secure area at the track.

I will not see sap unless it goes above freezing. At 32 and below it just does not flow. We will have above 32 today, but perhaps not enough to do more than dampen the taps. It snows tonight, but goes above freezing tomorrow. Cold Tuesday, but 40's on Wednesday. That will be a prime collection day.

For tonight's storm, I will just move the vehicles around the driveway a bit so as to make snow removal easier tomorrow. If I can get it as clear as possible, perhaps the limited sun that does hit the driveway can start to melt it a little over the week. Expect it to take another two to three weeks to warm enough to get a good start on the ice that is in it.

Hi Claudie, really? I didn't hear all of that on the news. Did you hear how it happened? How did someone get all of this to begin with? Have a lovely day, we have 3-4 inches of snow with more falling.

Hello, wemiller, kathybye, sandipaws, attitash, and Farful!

wemiller, thanks for stopping in!

kathybye, rain is expected here, too, but not just for tomorrow; a good chance for the next 4 days! Yikes! Good news, in a way, b/c when it rains like it's supposed to in the winter/spring time, the water table will be up more for the summertime. :) Hope your PT goes well. You say you have 2 more sessions; if the knee's not better, will you be able to get more sessions (meaning insurance will pay)?

sandipaws, more snow for you? Sheesh! So March has arrived there like a lion. :( I'd be staying home, too. The rain has stopped here for the time being. I know everybuddy affiliated with today's race is hoping it'll stay away until late this afternoon.

attitash, alright! A whole week off for some more skiing! Hope the weather does well for ya!

Farful, key lime pie, huh? That's a favorite of hubby and my mother. Great that you and K won some of the domino games this time. You been practicing up? :)

Good morning Claudie and All!

Claudie, I agree. March has come in like a lamb here as well. Has been sunny but mostly cloudy now.

Enjoy your at home day.

Oh yes! Have to participate in Restaurant Week.

We had a delicious dinner last night at friends house. Everyone loved the baked lasagna dinner prepared by retired nurse from Atlanta, Judy. Everything was delicious. We all had second helpings. We still had room for the Key Lime Pie and whipped cream for dessert though.

Dominoes were better for me this time. I won several games. Mrs. Farful had several wins too.

Welcome to March!

Good morning Claudie...cloudy day here with a high of -3°C/26.6°F. Possible light scattered flurries late this afternoon. Decided to take this week ahead off work & get some ski time in. March break is a few weeks away & after it the ski hill might remain open another week. A short season in Ontario. Have a great day.

Good morning Claudie!

It's snowing here (and last night too). We are expecting about 6 inches of snow.
Not going anywhere today -- staying inside and getting a little housework done.
Hope you are enjoying your day and that the rain stays away for the race! {{Hugs}}

Morning, Claudie and friends!

Overcast and rain expected today, but 90% chance of rain tomorrow, and flooding expected. Glad I am home and now we have tile. I'll monitor the situation closely.

I am taking the day easy; tomorrow is P.T., with 2 more sessions to go. If my knee makes it through the next 2 days without much pain (> humidity), I will know I can finish the rest of rehab on my own.

The week after next is Spring break, with many errands to complete. I am taking my car in for burned out running lamp, and getting a few dings repaired, so minor items.

Take care, and enjoy your Sunday. Perhaps the sun will "peek" out. :)

p.s. and ENJOY your pedi tomorrow!

Good morning, grmoore, Scanman, and hmcsretired07!

grmoore, good job for the men's basketball team. Now if they can win 2 more games! It'll be a hard one against GA Southern, but hopefully they can beat them at home. As for the Sun Belt tournaments...you're not announcing this year?

Scanman, yes, the snow muffling all the outside sounds would be nice. :) Hope your back feels better today.

Greetings Claudie/friends:

Happy Sunday! 37 degrees and raining this morning.

The party was a wonderful success; our daughter did a wonderful job putting together everything. It was a Studio 887; which her company's facility. We had a great time!

The GSU Men's basketball team won last night so they're in second place in the (Sun Belt) conference with one game remaining versus Georgia Southern next Saturday at home. The women lost so they are likely on the bubble to make the Sun Belt tournament. The Women's tournament starts on March 11, and the men start on the 12th.

Off to start the day early as I have an early morning rehearsal because Wednesday evening everything was cancelled.

Have a great day all!

Well, it's not raining or anything; just really cloudy and gloomy, so I guess I can say that March is coming in like a lamb?? Maybe I need to wait 'til I see how the rest of the day is, though.

Good morning, Robustus, WKGaser, Lighting10K, MidnightSun, senile, and TUrtLE!

Robustus, hope you can get your mom to church with you today; I know she'd like that. BTW, did you get her out to get a haircut?

Lighting, glad you were able to work yesterday afternoon. The Hawks won again last night. :)

MidnightSun, so now you will be looking for another place to fix your car. Hope you can find one soon. Also.....happy birthday to you! Hope you have a great day!

TUrtLE, thanks for the Sunday movie. Such calming music!

WKGaser and senile, thanks for stopping in!

Staying home again today, though, this day won't be as nice (outside) as it was yesterday. Rain supposedly moving in; hope it waits until later this afternoon, so they can get the race in. I know there are thousands of people going that hope the same thing.

Good Morning Claudie,

Your Sunday movie is a Steve Politte video presentation, Waterscapes.
The song is "Meadows Full," from Video Blocks Music.

You will note that this movie is longer than I usually choose.
There is no text, only graphics and the music. You decide how long you want to view it. I chose it when I saw all the birds in the first 1:28 min. When I drove to town on Friday the sky was full of sea gulls, I suspect hundreds. I don't think I have ever seen that many in one flock.

This movie also brings the ocean to you as well as other bodies of water.

Quoting Steve Politte," This is the kind of video that you just enjoy God's artwork of Creation, and enhanced by beautiful music. God indeed is awesome. God bless and enjoy."

Good morning Claudie!

Sure did more cookies. Felt the shop was full of baloney. Will go elsewhere and told them that.

The low Saturday morning saw the still air temp reach 24.8° below zero (-32C). Had the kero heater on since 5PM the day before. What a pleasant feeling waking up to t-shirt temps in the hose this w/the bdrm window open 3 inches.

Finished my rounds earlier than usual, played a multi player game of StarCraft, its been 10 days since my last, then took a needed nap. The feeling of heavy eyes was overwhelming. The 90 minute nap my all the difference.

Saw an original The Twilight Zone epi, Criminal Minds, Law and Order while the sun did its thing by heating up the North Country. In no time the temp reached 4 above. Cold to you, warm for a winter day in this area

Passed on a run to the Recycling Center for a few things wanted in Littleton. Needed some 26 oz cans of Cream of Chicken condensed soup that Shaw's was out of for two weeks.

Visited my pal the store mgr of Rite Aidto get some cases of Bouble Bag strong ale from the Long Trail Brewery in Woodstock, VT. Also wanted a can of french vanilla coffee, in between homemade chicken noodle soup on our cold days.

Returned to Big Papa's Mket for broccoli crowns $1.25 a head, a few bananas foe 38¢ a lb, and got a deal on 14 10 oz pkgs of oatmeal raisin cookies for 75¢ each Teir reg low price was a $1 ea on Thurs. Liked them and wanted a stock for the house.

Stopped at the Gold House for a large steak bomb w/provolone, still just $8.06 w/tax. Few others can even touch a large steak and cheese for so little cost.

Spun by Mac's Mkt in Whitefield to get a few 6 Italian shredded cheese pkgs, 8 oz for $2.69. Spoke to my pal the meat mgr before he was through work for the day.

The air temp is -15° (-26°C). The high is to be 30° (-1°C) in the northern NH mtns.

Civil twilight is 5:54 AM EST. Night is 6:03 PM.

Sunrise: 6:24 AM. Set: 5:33 PM.

Length of day: 11h 09m. Length of visible light: 12h 08m. Tomorrow will be 3m 03s longer.

Have a splendid day!

Good evening/night Claudie!

Not much going on today except returning to work after the "Snowcalypse."

I had a little problem getting out of my driveway this morning. All the roads were actually in good shape. So no problems driving to work. As for work went, things were pretty slow. I assume that everyone must have bought everything they needed/wanted the other night plus people still might be afraid to get out. Perhaps some of the back roads were still in worse shape.

Anyway, I'm now off 'til Tuesday. No plans except for church tomorrow. I might take Mom out again probably Monday. I've been waiting until that so-called new healthcare program she's on kicks in (it started Feb. 1) to get out to get her a pair of eyeglasses. I've got to figure out what opticals we can go where it is covered. Under this plan/program they allow up to $200 towards a pair.

So other than that, not much else. Since tomorrow is March 1st, when is spring going to get here? We are expecting some freezing rain in the morning. Not much expected. I hope so! I'm not ready for a ice storm after this snow mess! Especially not anything like last year!

Once again, I don't mean to repeat but hoping everyone stays safe out there!

Good evening, munchkins_mom, wemiller, HappyHiker, and JCTRAIL!

munchkins_mom, not only has the race car been recovered, but they also found the pick-up that was hauling the trailer; there was evidence that it had been broken into (to steal it). Hope they can find the trailer b/c it sure has a lotta stuff still in it. Cool that the munchkins got to go to the zoo today for the polar bear celebration. :)

HappyHiker, I read online that the police have a "person of interest' that they're looking for (in relation to the stealing of the race car). Hope they can locate that person. Rain? That's predicted for us starting tomorrow evening, I think, and possibly continuing thru Thursday. Yikes! At least the temps will be higher. Hope you get some rain there, too.

wemiller and JCTRAIL, thanks for stopping in!

Time for me to sign out for the night.

Good night, everybuddy!

Hi Claudie, I couldn't believe it when I read in the paper this morning about the race car being stolen. How sad for the driver that he wasn't able to race!

Rain was predicted for us tonight, but it looks to me like the wind is blowing all the dark clouds away. Ever hopeful, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Good night to you.

Hi Claudie, I see the stolen car has been recovered. It will be interesting to see if an arrest is made. I've never heard of anything like this before.

The munchkins were at the zoo today in time to celebrate polar bears. The actual celebration was yesterday but, our zoo held the event today.

Hello, JM, grmoore, hmcsretired07, Scanman, Farful, attitash, dickc49, and kathybye!

JM, if you're supposed to get rain, too, then hopefully there will be enough to melt the rest of that snow.

grmoore, hope the basketball teams do well today. These wins are important! When does the tournament in NOLA start?

hmcsretired, thanks for stopping in!

Scanman, believe it or not, this state DOES have snow plows and they were mostly sent to the northern part of the state to help get the roads cleared off. Whoda thunk it, right? :)

Farful, Restaurant Week? Sounds interesting. Are you going to participate? Hope the temperature warms up for ya.

attitash, glad to hear it's quiet at your job today; maybe it'll stay that way, but then...that would make the day go by slowly, wouldn't it?

dick, did you also read that the stolen trailer with the race car in it was found? I think it was probably just a 'regular' thief who stole it and didn't realize what was in the trailer. When he opened up the trailer...SURPRISE!! No way would he be able to get rid of it, so he just left it somewhere. Glad to hear you were able to clear a path to the tree; it'll be interesting to see if you get any sap while it's still so cold.

kathybye, a pedi? Yeah! I have one scheduled for Monday morning. :) That's good that you can spread that your schoolwork over several days. Sounds like something I would do. :)

Hi, Claudie & Friends:
Overcast today, but no worries. My knee is feeling good enough (even w/80% humidity here today) to have a pedi, and a nail polish change!

I had friends who scheduled last min. lunch for birthdays, but I decided pedi appointment takes precedence. I will meet w/both of them separately to give them a small gift and my time.

I have some school work to finish this weekend, but w/rain expected for Sat./Sun./Mon. I will begin later today and finish Sun. afternoon- Mon. AM.

I enjoyed watching Season 3, Episode 1 of House of Cards. It's a bit "dark" as usual, but I do enjoy the amazing acting of Kevin Spacey Robin Penn, & others.

BTW: Our Healthcare (ASRS) goes out for bid this year (every 3 yr. I believe), so it will be interesting to see who wins the contract. UHC is OK, but unpredictable w/costs. We kept UHC, but GROUP benefits changed Jan.1st. Unless you use service, you never know the cost. I did go online to estimate meniscus tear cost, which was @ $1800-2000. P.T. is a slow process, but much < costly.:)

ENJOY YOUR DAY at home!

Good afternoon Claudie,

Saw on the news that one of the drivers cars was stolen from the hotel they were staying at. WOW! I've never heard of that before! Wonder if it was a competitor or just a random thief?

Another nice sunny day today. Cold start at 5°F, but should warm to near 30. Tomorrow will begin to cloud up and snow will break out about 5-6PM. We are due for 3-6 inches. It will be outta here by about 7AM Monday with clearing skies behind and, for once, not a following cold blast! Monday should actually be warmish.

I did get out yesterday afternoon to try digging/snow blowing that path to the tree. The first 6 feet or so were tough going, but once past there, I could get the snow blower to "tunnel" under the snow for a bit. That allowed me to back it up and break the crust down and then do it again. I got the other 20 feet as fast as the first 6 feet. Path is done and I trampled and scooped some snow near the tree to have work room. Think I will go out and tap the tree today even though it should not be quite warm enough for sap to flow. At least it will be done.

Greetings Claudie/friends:

Happy Saturday! 37 degrees this morning.

Today we have a few odds and ends to complete and a birthday party for our daughter's boyfriend - his "golden" birthday turning 28 on February 28th. She's hosting and has gone "all out!"

The GSU basketball teams play tonight at Troy. Yeah, losses are coming at an "interesting" time; not withstanding the win/loss record, the only likely way they will make the tournament is to win the conference tournament in NOLA in a few weeks.

Off to start the day.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, Claudie. I am ready for some warmer weather. We are suppose to get rain, too. We still have plenty of snow on the ground, though most of it has melted.

Good morning Claudie!

Loved the oatmeal raisin cookies so much, may return later for a few pkgs to keep "in stock." Ha!

It was -17° for the low temp yesterday morning. Lasted from 6 AM until 8:30. Then slow to warm up. The temp was 4 degrees warmer on Mt Washington. Had the kero heater on at 4 PM on Thursday. Needed to open my bdrm window to allow cold air to regulate the room temp.

Another clear night will see even colder temps. 16 to 22 below zero (to -30°C) are expected. The wind chill is meaningless in these mtns. Unless one is outdoors.

Made some spinach stuffed chicken breast w/o the bacon in the morning. getting to be good at tweaking these two new recipe. Tried one a touch of mayo, spinach and feta cheese.

The other had ricotta and Parmesan w/the spinach mix. Both are very excellent. Would depend on the mood one is in. Have to wonder what a little tomato sauce or bruschetta would do to the taste. Did forgo the turkey bacon making these.

Played w/a recipe for pork chp gravy w/lt soy, brown sugar, cornstarch, apple juice, and ground ginger. Made a few tiny batches w/diff combo. Not a big hit to me like Tuscan sauce or even BBQ sauce.

Enjoyed watching some Netflix TV shows. Rec'd a mid afternoon phone call from the auto body shop. They want me at 8 Am Monday Yet will not have a car to loan until after 9.

Need to be somewhere by 9:30 AM so they are searching for a loaner. They also added another 24 hours to repair the car due to painting it. Now a two day job for paint and install a small applique panel to the front bumper cover.

Sounds like a lot of baloney to me. May go elsewhere in a week or even two. They do not work Saturdays. Lit the kero heater just before 5 PM to have the house hot overnight. It sure is even w/the bdrm window open 4 inches top and bottom.

The air temp is -16° (-27°C) and dropping like a rock. Expect -24° (-31°C) this morning by 7 AM. The high is to be 22° (-6°C).

Civil twilight is 5:56 AM EST. Night is 6:01 PM.

Sunrise: 6:25 AM. Set: 5:32 PM.

Length of day: 11h 06m. Length of visible light: 12h 05m. Tomorrow will be 3m 03s longer.

Have a tremendous day!
