And as soon as we have a high number of cars requiring natural gas as fuel, the price will go up because the demand for it has gone up.

it might even help curb the inner city / town racing and the idiots trying to kill others on two lane country roads who pass when there's no room to pass.

Bestworld: when you can't drive more than 70mph on any road in the US, why do we need power? Ain't like you can go 160 mph..

Not a bad alternative fuel but I understand it's noticeably more sluggish than gasoline, ie, less power.

I love it when posters make comments but can't support their assertions when asked! Seems like a kid being caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

What do you mean "in the winter we have to import it" (NG)? Is there something I need to know about NG?

One likely problem will almost certainly be that buying one of those vehicles will probably cost around $60,000. Unless they're able to be mass produced at affordable prices, the chief value of those things is as article material for Popular Mechanics Magizine.

If we started to use natural gas for our cars then their would be a natural gas shortage. And of cours the prices would go sky high.

IF..we had NG cars, and IF...we had stations to get it, most of us would be using it. Just telling us how good it would be, someone needs to get cars and gas on the market.

and I get letters in the mail saying natural gas plants use petroleum, so it was a reason I had a hike in my natural gas bill. Let's not forget the delivery fees, commodity fees, hazmat fees... you see, once they got you - YOU PAY!!

If everyone started using natural gas, prices would shoot through the roof again. I don't think people would care to see these prices jump up and down like a ping pong ball.

Natural gas is clean, sure, but cheap? Not in my neck of the woods. We have the headquarters of one major pipeline company here in my part of Ky., and our natural gas supplier (Atmos Energy) likes to charge plenty.
And our friends just across the river in Indiana have to deal with Vectren Corporation, an electric/gas utility which has proven its ability to do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to bilk more cash out of their customers, up to and including bulldozing a perfectly sound and attractive 20-year-old riverfront apartment high rise to build a multi-million-dollar office tower they absolutely, positively did not need.
I've no problem with profit. It's greed I get pissed off about. And we've got the greed right here.

Stations switched to E-85 to stay in the times, and profit is what its all about, so they will switch to accommodate.

Paying $8.90 per MCG for natural gas. What that means gallon wise for a car? CLE RTA bus line was natural gas with their CLEAN AIR buses & that lasted 6 months and they are back to diesel with the black smoke on the clean air bus.

Now just think about Hybrids with engines powered either by natural gas, or diesel engines. Then you would really get impressive MPG.
