I must agree, you are right - the added taxes & educed subsidies have trickled up under our noses. and this time Congress is not "investigating .. " as they usually do because they know it's no the Big Oil jacking it around.

Most likely, by April, gas prices will be at or around $4.05 to 4.17 a gallon, so $4.25 would top that and if all the gas taxes are passed, it will certainly happen. You're all paying more now for gas not because of speculation or traders on the commodities markets but from ethanol costing more due to the subsidies being taken away for it and thus the price of ethanol going up, which in-turn boosted up the price of gas you buy. Plus, refineries have been "...closed for maintenance..." which also helps to buoy the price of gas.
Take away the excessive taxes and oil and gas would be lower in price. Same for diesel! As it is, I can't afford to buy food as I did just a few weeks ago as prices are up too much now for me. It's happening to too many of us who are poor, not getting food stamps, etc. I don't like Obama, I don't like Bush, I don't like Clinton and I don't like Congress as they've helped to create the mess we have by working for the ultra-wealthy and elitists rather than for me and you and I am really to not like most of the people of this country as well. Too damned many of them voted ALL these people into power, believe their lies, and when they voted for Obama, must have wanted to pay more for gas, oil, electricity, etc., as that's what he said would happen. I'd much rather see Ron Paul in there than anyone else, but you people believe the lies of others, so don't blame anyone but yourselves for $5 a gallon gas when it hits and it will soon enough.
Too damned many are Facebooking, Twittering, AdultFriendFindering, etc., not seeking or reading the rest of the story and getting down to the truth of matters and would rather be entertained. It'll be all YOUR fault when things continue to get worse and they continue the lies.

Gas Prices Predicted To Hit Record $4.25 High By April and along will go the higher cost of doing business. Higher transportation costs, higher food prices, higher goods and services, less profits. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle is, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using ‘other’ forms of transportation or car pool to lower your cost for personal transportation. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

This is all uncalled for! It is not a patriotic thing to take your country down by speculation greedy people that are manipulating the system. We need to hold these people accountable and find out who they are and why they need to drive up the prices. Its called limiting speculation! Its the job of the CFTC and they refuse to do it.

the correct position is to tax fossil fuel consumption much higher than it is currently. You can't disagree, unless you're living in a cave with a GOP congressman.

More speculator baloney to prepare us for what they intend to do TO us.
If we pay, it will happen.
Decide now how you will deal with this. The rascals will try to make it a reality. Only the consumer can slow them down by not buying as much as they expect.
Restoring commodities market is only way to stop speculation but that won't happen with the crew we have in charge now (BHO & Co.).

MilesPerGallon is right & I have been saying the same thing on here since The Spring of 2004...
Crude Oil, Gasoline, Diesel, Home Heating Oil, Aviation Fuels must be moved from Commodities Futures Trading to PUBLIC UTILITIES where prices can be lowered or raised with proper justification by request to State Public Utility Commission...
Utilities make a PROFIT & do NOT have to price gouge to do it!
EXCESSIVE GREED, EXCESSIVE SPECULATION, SUPPLY MANIPULATION, GRAFT, CORRUPTION is at work & has been sonce 2003!
Time for OUR Government to PROTECT WE THE PEOPLE & not make the rich even RICHER AT THE EXPENSE of The MAJORITY of USA Citizens & Consumers!
IMHO folks WE ALL will have to get out in mass & PROTEST BOTH ON THE PHONE, ON THE COMPUTER & IN PERSON ON THE STREET similar to the 1970's!

the track record of predictions by so-called "EXPERTS" does not impress me. In May, 2008, they predicted $ 5 at the pump by Labor Day. DID NOT HAPPEN. In May, 2011, they again predicted $ 5 at the pump by Labor day. DID NOT HAPPEN. Why would I believe them this time ?

Blame the greedy big government! If you took away the taxes and fees the government tacks onto a gallon of gas, it would cost about half of what we're paying now! (This is according to the article posted on gasbuddy recently, that stated the government rakes in 50 to 73% of the cash on oil leases.) Vote for politicians like Ron Paul, who are faithfully devoted to smaller government, if you ever want to get out of this mess!

At the rate it's going, it will most likely happen. Plus, it's obviously what people wanted when they gave their vote to Obama as he said that if his agenda was passed, then we'd all be paying more for electricity and energy in-general, and so we are.

In the 70's we had the oil embargo. We should have realized that we had no control over oil and our "leaders" should have done something. Also in the 70's the cell phone got its start. It is interesting of how we still have no energy independence but certainly have a lot of cell phones. Suppose it has something to do with oil company lobbyists??
