Hey Joe, did yuo get the GB e-mail offering you 5K points for filling out a survey? I did, answered it, and was told they gave me the points yesterday. Well, they didn't, at least as far as I can tell. Thought I'd start asking around before complaining about it.

Today is already better than yesterday. I think we got about 5.7 kw for yesterday and the day before. Lord Catsworth is so hairy you would think you he is part sheep or something. Yesterday was awful but we went to the grand opening of the Harvard Art Museums that have been closed for building for a couple of years. Wifey very pleased and happy. Weather particularly Nasty!

No, my 2005 Corolla Five Speed does not get 44+MPG. It does get in the upper 30s though. Paid $ 11,000 in 2006 for this car. I now have 180,000+ miles on it and it still runs like a top.....

You would be surprised with the number of Nukes currently in construction: VC Summer #3, Plant Vogtle # 3 &* #4. There are also some plants in the final stages of fast track construction and application to license: North Anna #3 & #4, Bellefonte #2, Grand Gulf #2. There are also two coal fired plants currently in construction. Nukes and coal are not dead yet.....

...will be postponed or even cancelled down the line. Now if they can just develop an electric recharging infrastructure without limiting the players to solar or investor owned electric utilities.

I am not convinced wind energy will become a major player in our energy balance. you have moved to solar and others will indeed follow your lead. There are some of use that are still studying the issue. The microgrid will change a lot of solar design as well current distribution issues in overhead plant. All looks good for the near future.....

I have some B stock of B.Hathaway that has done ok over the last year or so. Most of the businesses that Buffett invests in are at or near the top of their industry and are considered well run. They benefit by access to capital in the larger corporation. Usually Buffet leaves the existing management in control. It is a formula that has also stood the test of time. Most years B. Hathaway beats the indexes. They don't give dividends but they do appreciate. I bought at 118. and it is now about 146. It is more than 1 year but less than 2.

Spalling in concrete is likely to be caused by water penetrating and freezing. I have seen concrete walks in Minnesota that were 100 years old and no spalling at all. It may also be concrete quality I have read that the Romans who invented the stuff have left us 2000 year old concrete that has stood the test of time.

interesting.. warren buffet just bought duracell* from PnG for 4.6 billion in stock... wonder what new battery technology will soon be emerging from the world's leading battery maker??? buffet was said to have remarked.." they're a bit boring, but also a worldwide leader in the market, and they will fit in well w/bershire hataway's other leading portfolio holdings such as GEICO, BNSF and Dairy Queen" Duracell* manufactured batteries for Neuton* mowers in the past... who else can they make batteries for??
