"the proof of the pudding is in the tasting" ... thanks for not phrasing the bromide as 'the proof is in the pudding' ... I still appreciate proper spelling/grammar/etc - Tom : )

Of course, you are correct about the pedestrian being the worse off in any vehicle/pedestrian collision, however, as you agreed;all motor vehicle operators need to know that they are responsible for accidents, no excuses. In my case in Colorado, if I had of waited until the highway department had of plowed the highway my front wheel would not have struck the block of ice dropped off of the truck that I was following up the mountain, too closely at a speed that was unsafe for conditions. I paid my fine and did not and do not object to it.

We need to go back to the concept that used to exist, at least in Colorado and Pennsylvania and perhaps most places) if a motor vehicle operator had an accident, that operator received a citation for not having the vehicle under control as the law required motor vehicle operator to maintain control over the vehicle at all times, no excuses! By definition if a vehicle had an accident it was not under control of the operator. Sometimes a second ticket was written for driving too fast for conditions, following the same kind of logic. Then we started accepting excuses and drivers no longer had to keep their vehicles under control, everyone else could be found to blame and the motor vehicle operator could get off Scott free. If you do not thing that motor vehicle operators love that, just read all the advice given to the pedestrians on this site.

A BIG CONGRATS on 500 consecutive days again! Awesome! Wow, another milestone has arrived! : ) For most GBs (8M plus) they don't seem to have the dedication or the persistence it takes to come back and post gas prices each day for other GBs! Or they just run out of gas! :( Hang onto your speed lines, it only takes one day to lose them! I'm sure you know! But, even clicking on news articles links, which are the easiest points here on GasBuddy, when you can't or didn't post gas prices before midnight will save your consecutive days! : ) WARNING! Every day GBs lose their consecutive days, many with big numbers, the #1 reason, "oops, I just forgot!" :( If you ever lose your consecutive days; that is NO FAULT of your own, please contact the mods! Keep posting each day to save your consecutive days! Keep going like a PRO Indy GasBuddy! Have a nice week! Thanks buddy!

What year and and what speed do you get 500 mptank? I assume on some flat roads. I have a 2006 and a 2010 but don't get that good in Ohio and Pennsylvania. However if I baby it, I have been able to push it in combines milage to over 31 MPG
