Turmoil in Syria increases as U.S. evacuates embassy

GasBuddy Blog -- The latest report from the AP desk in Beirut says that the U.S. has closed its embassy in Syria and Britain recalled its ambassador to Damascus in a new Western push to get Syrian President Bashar Assad to leave power and halt the murderous civil war in Syria.

Contrary to President Obama's comments in his State of the Union address, the AP reports that the U.S. "diplomatic effort was stymied at the U.N. by vetoes from Russia and China," but, the recent moves by the U.S. and Britain (to evacuate the Syrian Embassy) were a clear message that Western powers see no point in engaging with Assad and now will seek to bolster Syria’s opposition.

Those Syrians can be wild and crazy, more of the same to come. Do Not let Barry anywhere near this country, he will be sucking up to them in no time. Let them take care of it and Not the US, send those Libyan rebels there to show them how it’s done. With social media to help communicate and organize the people, it can help take out this government. 12/22/2012!

We have been trying to buy influence over there and it doesn't reap much fruit. Israel can take care of that region very well, so we should close our bases and bring our troops home to America. It is their business as to how much despotic control and abuse they will endure before a revolution in either Syria, Egypt, or Yemen. We have no business interfering in their internal affairs as they have none with ours. Not one drop of American blood is worth spilling in any of these countries. We certainly have no vested interests in any of them and our country is NOT the World's cop.

In fact, our "help" sometimes makes it worse. We helped Iran in the 70s. We helped Iraq, Afganastan, Lybia, Lebanon and Lord knows who else over there. If we try to help them anymore I'm afraid they will just run us off. Let's save our money and tend to our own stuff.
