I'm so relieved to see that so far, our gas price's have remained stable in Illinois.
Since Los Angelos gas prices went at an average of $4.72 a gallon last October, I don't know how they are able to tolerate this?
I guess that they have no choice but to pay for what they need.

If oil company has disruption to it's production tell news outlets. Have a plan so customers aren't impacted more than necessary. Business do your job. Tell the public directly.
Fewer people involved, less taxpayer supported news people. Why does the government have to control our news?
It's different issue that involved agencies need to be informed for cleanups, etc. Skip this drama!

U.S. deserves candor, transparency from refineries and Big Oil/Gas! The refineries continue to produce fuel when they are 'shut down,' on a maintenance upgrade or for any number of other reasons. Big Oil and Big Gas sells fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices. The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon - *$3, *$3.50/gallon or *$4.00 is Not the new low! More Refineries are Not the answer, the answer is Stop Exporting Fuel! Take care of the domestic market first! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII! - The Day After......

They've spent billions of profits in stock by backs, increasing the value of the stock since there is less out there for the consumer. Rather than upgrade their facilities they just spend millions buying nut bag politicians to tell us wind, solar, and electrification of cars are a bad thing to keep us on the oil addiction.

"significant problems at refineries"? Let's expand, shall we: significant problems at refineries with poor quality control and CEOs needing more cash in their pockets.

I know they are ot going to build new refineries, but can't they at least sink some money into these old ones to update them and maybe prevent some of these "accidents" from happening?

From reading the first three paragraphs of this article, I'd say we need refineries that can break their nasty habits of having accidents and disasters!

With a hostile press - looking for any news to make oil companies look bad, there is little wonder why they are reluctant to be forthcoming. Kind of like the Obama administration hiding their secrets before the election.

Candor from the refineries? We treat refineries like the enemy. When was there a new refinery built? I believe some 25 30 years ago.
