I am driving much less and have purchased a Toyota Prius Hybrid--50 mpg+. Cuts the cost of gas in half.

Big drop in drive is the answer. I pay just about the same amount of money for 2 week today as I did when driving 1 week a couple a years ago.

I'm driving less. I find I'm only stopping at a gas station (on average) about every 9 days instead of every 7 days in years past.

I do drive less and group my trips more, but I've always used cruise control set at 55 MPH or 5 MPH over local street speeds. I'm just cheap and cruise control helps keep the engine RPM near constant.

I've cut way down on my driving and am looking for a Trike. My knees are just not good enough for a 2 wheeler anymore and neither is my balance. That would definitely help on gas prices.

No, I bought a fuel efficient car 4 years ago and drive about the same. Cut my litres by 1/3 so gas cost are still way down.

I've been too cheap for years and only drive what I absolutely need to. Multiple errands in same trip working a loop and saving fuel in the process.

I drive about the same but I drive a lot slower. If I leave ten minutes earlier for work and go 62 I save about $15 a week. Over a months time that will save me a whole tanks worth of gas.

ə a little less.
i do more walking than i used to, but most of my mileage is out of town, and that has changed little but cut back slightly because of the higher fuel cost. ə

Well it's a toss-up. Either we eat less or we drive less. So yes we make one trip do for all the shopping we have to do. Also eat less too by the way, cheaper food anyway.

Driving a lot less, why would anyone think otherwise? Unless you were a Kennedy, Kerry, Biden, Pelosi Reed or Obama!

Over the last several years when gas started to rise, I would make an itinerary of my stops in my head and basically start from home and make a large circle.

Where I live I can choose 3 buses to take to downtown Portland Oregon and Light Rail. Since there is a great deal of construction going on downtown to make room for more Light Rail and streets/parking being closed at what seems a whim. I can get downtown faster than driving. Plus I have a disability, so i can buy a 2 hour bus pass for 85 cents.
