Nation, area gas prices expected to be lower in 2013

The Dayton Beach New Journal -- The new year is less than two weeks old, but local prices have already climbed seven cents on average since Jan. 1. Nevertheless, the U.S. Energy Information Administration and AAA Auto Club both are predicting U.S. retail gasoline prices on average will be somewhat lower this year than in 2012.

The national annual average price for 2012 wound up a record $3.60 a gallon for regular unleaded, according to AAA's estimate, and $3.63, according to the EIA.

The EIA this week forecast the annual U.S. average price for 2013 will be $3.44 a gallon — four cents lower than what it predicted a year ago the annual average price would be for 2012.

AAA this week released a report forecasting that "gas prices in 2013 will average less than the annual record of $3.60 per gallon set last year,"

somewhat lower? By what? 02 cents? So the EIA predicted 3.48 for 2012 and it turned out to be 3.63? Hmmm..

Nation, area gas prices expected to be lower in 2013! Higher? Stay the Same? Lower? WHAT? One author says one thing, another one says the opposite.
The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon - *$3, *$3.50/gallon or *$4.00 is Not the new low!
The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! These resources are Not to be exported without taking care of the domestic market first. Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pay higher prices at the pump for their personal greedy benefit.
More Refineries are Not the answer, Stop exporting fuel is!
'Coming out of the closet' Sneeky's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the jobs are Not here. Sneeky's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continue to be down!
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Yesterday's prediction was higher. Today, it's lower. Financial analysts is the easiest job in the world. Predict an outcome, the no matter how wrong people will forget.

Finite amount of $$$ out there for all the companies to chase. Greed will prevail and prices will rise somehow, some way.

After a careful and thorough analysis, I confidently predict that gas prices will go higher, remain stable, or go lower throughout the year, unless something happens that changes the situation...

Predicated on what, how much you get paid by someone to forecast this drivel?

Don't get me wrong, I would love it but until they open up drilling offshore as well as the pipeline and anything else that will keep speculators afraid, it will not happen!

Now, I'll agree with this article. We've had all 3 for the year now. One said higher, the other steady and this one lower. We're covered.

What? That's NOT what the ace crack reporter said in an article yesterday: gas prices expected to explode into record high levels in 2013. Who's sniffing those fumes again?

Why has the price risen, other than historically it has always done so? There is no reason other than greed.

A couple of days ago we saw an article that said prices would be going up. Today there was another one that said they would be steady. Now this one says they'll be lower. HUH?

Okay, this counters the previous article. The information here seems to be more reasonable and I too believe gas prices will not reach last years level.

With the inventory of distillates increasing, the price of crude decreasing, and no middle-eastern revolutions on the horizon, let's hope they can find an excuse to bring gasoline prices down.

Maybe they are right, some of our local stations are down 2 cents a litre this am, but then again they may be teasing us again.
